Frankly, I think a lot of us on this board, including myself, have a wait and see attitude towards Hazell. Granted when he arrived the team lacked depth, program discipline and process, and a weak assistant coaching staff. Blame lands on everyone including the AD and the administration as well as Hope. What has impressed me so far regarding Hazell and the AD's willingness To invest, is that the program now has a process, discipline and a strong supporting cast of assistants. Hazell from the outset has been about building depth and taking the necessary steps of going young and playing freshmen and sophomores early. Last week-end you saw in the fourth quarter there was a lot of substituting of third and fourth teamers. Moreover, during the first three quarters there was a lot of substituting of both sides of the line as well as at LBs and safeties. I think Hazell is doing a credible job of building depth and establishing a program with a lot of discipline and process in developing its players. It remains to be seen whether all of this will start paying off on the field with wins, but I am becoming encouraged by the prospects. Boiler Up! Norm
