Haven'y heard. And next week we have a home game that overlaps the Purdue Christmas show. Parking will be a nightmare.

Purdue played a basketball game in Lambert in 2001? Wow, I didn't know that. Wish I would have attended. I love those old school gyms.

For those going to either event, you may want to avoid driving through downtown Lafayette. Saturday is also the Christmas parade and lighting ceremony. Busy day.

Is Lambert still standing? If so, why not host a retro non-conference tourney or game in the old barn sometime? Suspend modern fire codes, put up rickety bleachers, wear old-time unis, hang peach baskets. Project a 3D avatar of John Wooden watching over all.

LOL.
Don't they hold the indoor track meets in Lambert?

Ya, the venue is still in use, but I had no idea it hosted a basketball game after Mackey opened. I've seen old photos of basketball games in the field house. I believe the back wall was one sideline and a large single-tier temporary grandstand was the other sideline running perpendicular to the track.

Now that's a GREAT idea! Let's also have a big ceremony beforehand, re-naming Lambert Fieldhouse... because, you know, "it's all about 'naming rights' these days"; something catchy, something appropriate, like say "The MAYBERRY CENTER", or even better yet "The Big 'M', little 'organ' Complex"??!!

Here's your "explanation":
