Not one post about how much better they are than Purdue.

But a ton about what I said when they hired the guy...."Tom Crean can't coach and will not lead IU out of the dungeon that is Bob Knight's memory".

Boiler up for one hell of a game tonight....with or without Blackmon.

Tom Crean has become as much a fixture at IU as Ed Sullivan was on Sunday evenings when the Beatles and Elvis were kids. He's not going anywhere, he's almost stopped all of the drug use, the drinking, and the other little items that had become so IU under Davis and Sampson. He's a great example of a leader of young men, a father figure to so many including those who have never played the game, and he's so affectionate where his family is concerned...especially with his son. Who wouldn't admire a man so secure that he kisses his teen age son on the mouth for all to see.
He's won the B10 multiple times, he's taken IU to the Sweet 16, and would surely have taken them to a Final Four or National Title had all the other coaches not turned Indiana kids against him. And his record of sending kids to the pro's, of taking an every day player like Yogi and making them superstars is beyond admirable.

His frenetic and kinetic energy levels inspire others to get out and exercise, his constant tugging of his now too large slacks a reminder of just how much hard work can help you reach your goals.

Nope, Two Tone Tommy McClapperson is in Bloomington to stay for as long as the Tan Man chooses. Buckle up Big Ten folks...he's got all the other coaches right where he wants them.

We love you Tom Crean...we really do. Oh, and my friend Bob Knight....he said to tell you he thinks you are doing just an absolutely great job and to keep doing what you have been doing.

The simple reason for what you describe is that they know that they are not. While IU could certainly win the game, they are a home underdog. Upsets happen all the time but favorites are favorites for a reason.

As I have stated previously, I believe that Purdue is the better team. However, I expect a very tough game. Close games can go either way and luck plays a role in determining who wins.

I want Purdue to win, I hope that they do. But while I would be disappointed if IU won, I would not be shocked if that were the case. Teams get up for rivalry games.

I think a lot depends on the crowd. I have a cousin who works every game for Special Olympics at Ass Hall and he's amazed at how many now boo Crean when he walks in, and just how quiet the crowd gets at the least sign of failure. I agree it should be close, and it depends on whether Purdue comes out intimidated or fired up. I think Swanigan may struggle a bit, but I also think if it's called fairly, Bryant is out of the game with five fouls by early to mid fourth quarter.

TD, this is a rivalry game. I would have a very hard time accepting that Purdue would not be up for this game. Each team has a great deal at stake. Purdue needs this game to improve their NCAA seeding and potential tournament advancement. I expect both teams to give it their best shot.

while I wouldn't call it a "great game", I thought Painter slowed the game down and by doing so disrupted IU's run and chuck it offense. Solid defense on IU's three point shooters, and they let Bryant kind of score his and shut down the others. While somewhat an ugly game, I'm glad to see PU win an ugly game at Ass Hall.
