Has the lack of a timeout at the end of regulation been discussed?

The plays out of timeouts were dismal, not fouling down 3, etc. But after the make on the 3, they inbounded and ran out the clock. If memory serves, we did have 2 TO? Why not take a TO at that point? Get the ball at mid court. Draw up a play for the win? Now granted the play would be a lot of running around, throwing it to Mathias who would take an off balance shot and miss, but I would think that is better than not attempting a shot at all.

You make a great point. My friend, who is a Kentucky fan, called and said, "why doesn't Painter call a time out at the end of regulation, or why didn't he call timeouts when LR went on their run?" Not a "fire Matt Painter" guy, but he needs to take some responsibility for his mistakes as well.

Seems inexcusable to not take a TO at that point. I assume everybody got caught offguard by the 3 going in and still having so much time on the clock, but that's what the coaching staff is supposed to do...be prepared for anything.

5 seconds is a ton of time. You can dribble from foul line to foul line in under 3 seconds. 5 seconds is enough to catch and dribble for a dunk if nobody stops you. Purdue should have been able to get a 10 or 15 foot shot for the win instead of a 3/4 court heave.

How can you not have your head into the game? You should know the game situation...that is a bonehead mistake.
Painter was standing there with his mouth open and still watching the 3 go in and forgot whot the hell was going on.It`s not the first time in 11 years and wont be the last.
