Haas... Elbows

Haas gets every bad call because he's big. I don't think that Vandy player was trying to hurt him but his elbow clearly got him in the eye. What gives double standard officials?

I just dont understand officials.

When Haas and Hammons go up for a shot, their defender WALK INTO them with their hands straight up and give them no place to come down. Chabraz of Butler did this EVERY TIME. A walking chest-to stomach of shooter bump. Ibodel, I dont care what you say, THAT IS A FOUL. SO CALL THE DAMM THING! Happened the entire first half with Vandy too. Of course, that is why the Hammons 'step-thru' is now so effective. Cuz they are walking into him expecting the hook. dammit I say, CALL THAT FOUL!

Oh, and Punaj, i agree. Why Haas doesnt get a call - just because he is bigger - makes no sense. Sadly, it frustrates him and then he begins putting the ball in his belly before going up...and just tries to overpower everyone. What happened to the 'new rules' where you couldnt push somebody off the block? Sure seems the last two games have reverted back to the 'old rules'.

NICE WIN BOILERS!

Thought they would at least look at it on the monitor. I think this is the first game I've watched in 3 years where they only went to the monitor once, and that was with a minute left to check the clock.

I watched the replay of that elbow Haas took. The official, if you look, was staring at Haas feet. That's all he was concerned with. Then, Haas had his back to the official. It's a missed/unfortunate call. Just crappy luck is all.

And the really crappy part is that you are talking about a kid who has had his fair share of "elbows" called on him........only to get one given to him with zero call, or even a replay.....it has to be so frustrating. Time for CMP to send in another tape LOL.

Oh for sure! LOL. It has to stink for him. He took a pretty good shot. Any time you see him actually stop playing it hurt so bad.

What I don't get is why the elbow to the face, intentional or not, isn't a foul. What gives with that? Any of the refs could/should have called that. I can't complain too much. I watch Haas use his arm to literally batter the defender out of the way when he hit that bank shot at the middle of the second half during our rally.

I think they just simply missed it. I didn't see it either in real time, but the travel afterward was obvious and that's what they called. That wasn't even the worst call of the night, that goes to the obvious backcourt violation they missed on Vandy's first half under the basket inbound or you could probably pick and of Damian Jones' fouls in the second half.

That was some of the best booing I've heard in Mackey for a while. My throat hurts this morning!!
yes and then they have to have the student come out and play games to help break the momentum like an opposing coach might do for a timeout. Years ago, there was no break in the booing...wish they would do all that stuff at halftime...but probably afraid of not selling refreshments. Still, it does NOT help IMO. The other side would say...players must motivate themselves with various stoppages ...

THIS is exactly why my new motto is "Dunk. That. Shit." Cheers!

Normally I would agree, but I don't think there's any way we can argue with the officiating tonight. They missed a couple but it seemed like we got the benefit of a lot of calls.
One of the big differences between the Butler and Vandy games was how the post play was called. Butler was able to get away with a lot more physicality than Vandy was.
