According to Purdue official website, he is up to 7'3 and 245! That's bigger than Porzingis

I look forward to him and Haas terrifying opponents. He sure filled out some from when we recruited him (first photo) to his first semester at Purdue (second and third photos)

Dude better gain some weight. Even at 7'3" he doesn't look 245. In that top pic, I'm not sure he's even 200.

Haarms is becoming extremely interesting. I am anxious to see how he defends pick and rolls. If he can do it better than our most recent bigs his impact could be more than most of us are even hoping. I think he has the lateral agility to do so.
Agreed, I've heard a lot about his lateral quickness from those that have watched him play. I think painter has talked about it in a couple of interviews.

it was reported last year we can add former Boilermakers to the team up to a point for the games. It was said we could add Hammons even though he is a pro now.

Porzingis is 7'3" 240 playing at a high level in the NBA. I'd say he is the best template for Haarms. Similar to Dirk. Lean, ripped, and quick >> Big, soft, and plodding in today's game.
I agree with the porzingis statement but I think the original 300# post was meant more as a joke. Or at least that's how I read it.

Your spot on Bigjon, just having a little fun, 300# might happen when he turns 50 years of age. Who Knows? 250# is plenty for Mr. Haarms to play B1G Basketball, he might have issues maintaining that weight away from the trainers table, Keeping it packed on in muscle, we shall see

I find it difficult to believe that he's up to that weight already. He might be 7'3, but he's a 7'3 string-bean. I'd guess that he's more in the 210-220 range and that this is a classic case of a player's height/weight (obviously weight in this example) being exaggerated.

I find it difficult to believe that he's only at that weight by now. He might be 7'3, but he's a 7'3 behemoth. I'd guess that he's more in the 250-265 range and that this is a classic case of a player's height/weight (obviously weight in this example) being understated.
I love opinion based statements. They require absolutely no knowledge whatsoever.

And that, my friend, is why we're all qualified to be here!!!

I agree with you based on those pictures, but those pictures were also taken 2 month ago. It is possible that he has put on weight since and will likely put on more by the time October rolls around.

5 protein shakes a day minimum, along with all the other goodies that come from the food guru's and trainers, I'm sure the young man hasn't ever had to tackle anything like this before. Throw in some Ben and Jerry's Chucky Monkey for dessert, he will gain weight, keeps working for me.....lol

The amount of weight that an inch in height can add to a body is amazing. It would not surprise me at all that he is 245 in those last two pictures. I'm only 6'4" and I look down right skinny at 245 (or I should say I used to). He's very similar in dimensions to Porzingus. He will be just fine at this size for his freshman year in college. There are not many people in D1 with weight over 260 and even less who are high D1 players. We have one (or possibly 2) of them.

I think we all want him to gain "weight", meaning bulk through strength gain, and still maintain quickness and agility. Not knowing his vertical but assuming his wingspan is 7 foot something, I would expect him to be able to cover a large area. He evidently moves up and down the floor well now and none of us want that to change. The athleticism is already there. His future looks very bright to me. Btfu!

There is absolutely no reason to lie about his weight, especially in this particular case. I believe the 245 to be accurate. Also he came to Purdue at 224, which is more than your 210-220 estimate. It makes no sense to lie about him gaining weight. It would make more sense to say he is 210 (if you're going to lie about it) so opponents under estimate him and write him off.

Programs do this all the time. A perfect example: do you really think that O.G. Anunoby was 235 going into this past season? Nothing about him looked 235 before or during the season (prior to injury): http://iuhoosiers.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8859&path=mbball

Yep. His true identity is Naven Johnson and he worked as a weight guesser in a traveling carnival prior to making millions from his invention titled the optigrab.
He needs to get back to writing checks. I still haven't received my $1.09. Remember Nag knows what Nag knows.

How is it that you think you can guess peoples weight? Are you the guy at the State Fair who guesses everybody's weight for a dollar?

Are you being serious? It's not that difficult with some people if you take a good look at them. You can get a good idea of what their minimum to maximum weight range would be.

Like it fun to talk about stuff, but does it really matter if someone is totally right about something like a players weight?
