Haarms on radio with Cliz and co..........

Did I hear correctly on the telecast that he's leading the nation in blocks?

I think they said he's #1 in blocks for freshman. I think he's still #2 overall behind only Lynch at Minnesota. Purdue has played more games than most so far, so he's a few spots lower on the blocks/game list.

Matt Haarms has 32 blocks in 10 games for the season (3.2/game), including 4 swats yesterday and 5 against Louisville. Pretty impressive so far for a redshirt freshman, IMO.

Reigning DPOY for the Big Ten Reggie Lynch has 43 blocks in 9 games for the season (4.78/game).

Isaac Haas has 91 blocks through 114 games.

In case you're wondering, Joe Barry Carroll has the Purdue single season blocks record @ 105 in '78 (27 games), and the blocks/game record @ 3.9. Purdue went 16-11 in '78, Fred Schaus final year as coach. Not surprisingly, Joe Barry Carroll also has the career total record @ 349, 2.8/game (123 games). IIRC, AJ Hammons ended up just short on the total record with 343 in 132 games, 2.6/game.

H & H Block.....continuing the tradition with Matt Haarms.
