It let Purdue down big time today. They got almost nothing from Mathias, Cline, and Thompson (save for a couple of threes) on the offensive end. Also, VE seems to have stopped shooting 3's and mid-range jumpers. Lastly, the same defense all throughout the game (even with switching and different man-to-man matchups) is not a recipe for success against a perimeter-oriented team that spreads the court out.

guard play is why Purdue will be out by the 2nd round of the tournament.

Unless Carsen sees the ball a lot more, I fear a similar result. Guards simply aren't athletic enough.

Oh shut up about the defense. Seriously it's old and tired and it is not what needs changed or addressed.

If Cline is going to start he needs to be more than just a decoy. We literally can never get him looks.

Exactly

CE is the ONLY guard on the roster that can consistently score off of his dribble. Purdue shot terribly down the stretch (Thompson choked on that FT attempt when Purdue was up 66-64).

How about you shut up. You're in denial if you think you're going to see better postseason results under Painter's defensive schemes.
