tourneys. Played at a complex off 25 before Hwy. 52 and at some junior high gym about seven minutes away.

On one of the courts there was a kid about 6'11"....white, lanky, and in need of some peanut butter shakes. Towered over the other kids, even the 6'5" one. One of the guys I spoke with says he's from one of the Lafayette area schools....anyone know who it might be?

Needs work, but you can't teach tall or speed.

Grandson's team won all three and grand-daughters were 1-2.

Haven't heard anything about him. What age group?

I hope the kids had fun.

The courts were Legacy and Sunny Side middle school . My 9 yr old plays for the legacy 3rd grade team he lost vs a 4th grade team and vs a 5th grade team . I believe the kid you are talking about is from Nearby Rossville . And height is the only thing he doesn't need help with . If it is the same kid he is only 14 so you never know . A kid playing for Crown Point's 7th grade team is the one to watch if you like height and skill he is 12 and 6'6 was the best player there period IMO . I agree a kid that young and tall is worth keeping tabs on . Congrats on your Grandkids success .

Kid entering his freshman year at Blackhawk Christian is 6'8 and very athletic (name?). He will be the 4 for them this year as they also have 6'8 and 6'9 true centers to go with. FWBC should be preseason #1 in class A. They also return 3 other starters.

Blackhawk and Canterbury are usually pretty decent in all sports. Canterbury has a couple of kids in the pro's in baseball. Hasn't BH been down for a few years?

Did your grandson happen to play the Wabash team? It's absolutely amazing to see so many fourth and fifth graders shooting and hitting three's.

Defense for the most part is still an undiscovered concept.
He did not play them and I did not see them play . It is true as a long time follower of AAU the players have evolved to scorers rather than players . Are you coming back this weekend for the Adidas tourney ? G-son plays a team from Lexington Ky and a team from the region (Gary) this week .

They're not scheduled to play this weekend. Coach said they need to spend the weekend with mom.

As for AAU, it's ruined the game due to a lack of discipline, defense, and team work. AAU is about promising mom and dad their kid is going to be a superstar. But I have to say my grandson's coach, who is a High School Head Coach, does promote all of the above which is refreshing.
