US Naval update map 2/3/2022 @gr8indoorsman

For us ignorant of such things if this is just standard protocol or some heightened alert precaution ? About a week ago there were CVN and LHD moved front of the Norfolk, VA area and another CVN moved between Cyprus and Cairo. Also in the last week there were two more movements…LHD and CVN around Japan and two LHD and CVN around Taiwan

Among the first things done in the event of any kind of heightened tension is to move CVNs around. I don't foresee any kind of craziness, but you never know. Certainly keeping a CVN in the vicinity of the black sea makes sense, but frankly it's not uncommon to have a sixth fleet deployer in that area because it's central to lots of hot spots.

This is also the time of year for normal deployments - holidays are over, and the ships that have been out there for a while are probably due to come back. Feb/March is a pretty normal cycle for strike groups to go out.

I know a couple of my friends on the SEAL teams are on call as you might expect, but haven't heard any rumblings of major surge deployments, at least not here on the west coast. TBH, I've more or less removed myself from "the loop" since retiring two years ago.

Thanks, received the info from a cousin that used to be a fighter pilot, but very sharp still for upper 80s...or maybe low 90s... My uncle was Navy and buried in Arlington probably 8 or so years ago and so I don't really have "naval" understandings at my fingertips... :)

US raid on top ISIS leader

This probably explains the CVN location in the med. Similar to CARL VINSON during the OBL raid, they probably left from a land base and recovered on the ship.

These aircraft carriers are obsolete. U.S. aircraft carriers in the western Pacific are sitting ducks for communist China’s missiles, especially their CM-400AKG Mach 5.5 Wrecker cruise missile and their DF-21 ballistic missile, dubbed “the carrier killer.” The DF-21 missile has a range of 850 miles. That means you could launch one from Chicago and hit the Statue of Liberty.

Incoming!

Yes, carriers are obsolete

Iran also has hypersonic 'carrier killer' missiles. Khalij Fars
