Gordon Hayward

Terribly unfortunate....hate seeing anyone injured; and that was one of the worst I have seen in a while. Best wishes for him to fully heal and recover and get back out on the court. I wouldn't think he'd be back this season.

Didn't see it yet (may not want to), but preliminary report is the ankle was set in the arena's medical facility & may be able to return before the playoffs.

Dislocated ankle and a fractured tibia. Apparently no ligament damage, which is great news. However, I would be very surprised if he were to return for any portion of the 17-18 season. Nobody's beating the Cavs in the east this year, and LeBron very well may pack his bags once again in 2018. C's could be the "best" team in the East a year from now by default.

Watching Haywood injury hurt my heart just brought back memories of my son injury.

Terrible injury. Just feel sorry for him (thankfully he's signed his big contract before the season). It also made me wonder what would have been for Robbie Hummel if he didn't tear his ACL or hurt his back. I thought in high school Rob was the better player.

Hell even after the back Rob was the better college player. I remember him becoming a Naismith finalist the night of the ACL.

I am not a doctor but I don't see how there is no ligament damage. His foot was a long way from where it should have been.

NBA season lasts like 3 years right? Might be plenty of time for him to be back for the playoffs since it happened on opening night.

I was thinking the same thing. I was hoping it was more of a Paul George situation (not that THAT was good by any means), but PG's didn't involve any joints. A horrifically and completely broken bone (which seems to have healed 100% based on his current level of play).

After hearing dislocated ankle, you'd have to think ligaments were involved. Hope Gordon can make it back and wish him a full recovery.

The Celtics are the only team I like. Hayward is the prototypical Hoosier. They're both done. I watched a whole 6 minutes of the NBA this season. I regret those 6 minutes. No more. Is it almost time to beat up on Louisville yet?
