No better way to start a Sunday morning than with some Boilermaker basketball!

Figured this would be a good place to post about the game for the late sleepers we got.

Boiler Up!

so has it begun yet? all I have on my app when I click on the game is fuzzy pic that implies it's not "live" yet. Is any one else seeing live action?

Hello fellow Boilers....after much searching I found notice from team it may not be live today since it is being delayed....Nothing live of us at the moment till the 25th ....Please tell me some else has found an update...

Seems to me like the second unit hasn't found a good rythm yet, guys are thinking too much. The difference in talent it's clear though. If they keep playing Purdue's basketball it should be a comfortable US win.

43-33 USA at halftime. PJ and Dakota are playing well. Carsen is scoring, but as a high-volume shooter. Haas with 3 fouls that have kept him on the bench a lot.

The Purdue sports page has current stats. Looks like we are up 70-48 at the end of the third. Dakota has 16 pts.

Thanks everybody, I give up I've tried about 5 links on 3 browswers a pc, an ipad and a android lol

What's up with Cline's shooting? He's 1-5 today (all from 3) on top of poor percentages in the exhibitions/scrimmage. Did he focus too much on building his dribble-drive game and lost his touch from three? To me he's much more valuable as a zone-buster and paint-opener that the opposing defense must address than for an occasional two point layup.

VE with a great drive and dish to the Big Fella for an and-one! USA 83-70 just over 2 mins, left.

Go Boilers.....errr....USA!

Wow....a quick whistle "T" on the Argentina bench.....sign these officials up for the Big Ten.

89-76 final, Team USA......good game-learning experience.....plenty of material for the practice sessions. Nojel Eastern was on the floor in the last minute.....nice to see that.

89-76 4th Q ARG got away with a lot of reaching and grabbing. Painter just about left second rotation in too long. Got within 7 before change back to the starters.

Yes, Bash....but if CMP can get that second rotation working the way he wants, and if IH can avoid foul trouble....could be interesting.

Nojel being in probably had more to do with PJ being 5 inches shorter than anyone he was guarding and having four fouls. Still, nice to see some trust in Eastern.

Doubt they'll be much in the way of practice sessions since they play again tomorrow (UAE), have Tues off, and then play again Wed (Czech Republic)/Thurs (Romania)/Fri (Estonia). And if they make it to the Finals, they'll also play Sun/Mon/Tues next week. That barely leaves time for scouting reports and some walk-throughs. Their legs will probably be jelly by next weekend. Lets hope we get some deep bench PT in games like UAE. In other first round games, UAE lost big to Estonia. Czech Republic beat Romania 72-60. And for other comparison, Canada also crushed Norway 85-54.

PJ was hobbling a little after getting fouled at the end. It looked like he might have bumped knees or hit his knee on someone. He stayed in for his foul shots, but Painter took him out after he made the 2nd.

For those questioning the shooting...

Remember when Purdue played at Maryland and how much they struggled shooting due to playing with the horrible Under Armour basketball? The ball they are playing with, imo, is even worse. Anytime it gets any moisture on it, it becomes incredibly slippery. I'm not reading too much into the shooting issues as the players will get back to the usual ball when the season starts. If the issues continue into the regular season, then we'll know something is up...but do a little bit of thinking here: the team was one of the best shooting teams in the country and suddenly their shooting is off...what has changed since then? A new basketball, a new assistant coach, and a Biggie leaving. Now, which of those is likely to have caused the shift in shooting?

Yep, and the 3-point line is a bit farther back I believe.

1.4' deeper in the arc and 0.9' in the corners. Guess that could easily make an orientation problem for our 3P shooters if they aren't used to it. Does anyone know if we had the international 3P line for our stateside practices and the Carmel/WL exhibitions with Canada? (I assume the Norway scrimmage used it in Taipei)

I think they used international lines for the scrimmages, but I wasn't there to see it.

I know they had the international lines marked out for the Jeff game.
