Good Luck Coach Parker

As I mentioned in a thread about a month ago, Parker and Freeman were the only assistant coaches I liked during the Hazell era ( or disaster). Seems to be well liked by the players, so I am sure he will do well wherever he ends up. Good luck Parker!

Football Scoop says he got the RB job at Cincinnati. Congrats and best of luck to him. Looks like that means Barclay will move into the RB spot for us.

You could say Freeman has received commitments from two players who were once Purdue targets in Potts and White. And many of us expected White to commit to Purdue. And White credited Freeman with his decision to go to Cincy. I realize Potts never really liked Purdue, but I feel bad losing out on him to Cincy! To be successful, we should not lose recruiting battles to Cincy.

Parker accepted a position as RB coach at Cincy? That makes my other post that was criticized as close to being prophetic. Parker was never in the plans to stay. He was just kept on the staff until he could find a new job elsewhere. I still do not believe all the blame for recruiting should be placed on Hazell. And as recruiting coordinator, Parker shared the responsibility and also the blame. As I look at the past three years, it was a disaster. Yes, the players played harder for Parker than Hazell, but it still wasn't good enough to win a game or be competitive against any team other than IU. I wish him well, but a clean slate and fresh start was in order. As I said in my earlier speculative post, Brohm wasn't going to wait forever for Parker to make up his mind.
