First had a stellar career at Purdue, then short career in WNBA, then assistant at Purdue, at Wisconsin and now Boston College. Proud of our alumni.
Not that I ever heard. But I have no inside sources. There was something odd, though, as she suddenly left "to pursue other interests" and a few months later signed for a similar position with the Badgers.I remember being very surprised when she left Purdue. Was the reason or reasons ever revealed?
Anyway congratulations to her on her new position. I'm sure she will do well.
I think they lost some high profile recruiting battles with some very high ranked recruits... I remember Sharon and Lindsay being involved... and why did she leave Wisconsin so suddenly also? My sense is that Sharon was under lots of pressure to get the program turned around and lost some recruiting battles with Lindsay and thought a change needed to be made.. JMHO.Not that I ever heard. Not saying, but sometimes even though you have a good job you just can't get along with certain other people and have to leave. My daughter (also a physician - and a PU grad) just had to change her employment for that reason.

Balcomb improving the offense certainly did not work. Here's me trying to piece together the puzzle.
4/18/19 - LWH announcement that she's leaving Purdue.
4/30/19 - Purdue announces they are bringing on Melanie Balcomb.
5/22/19 - LWH hired at Wisconsin.
My speculation: Balcomb, who worked for Bobinski at Xavier, was likely forced on Versyp as an attempt to improve our offense which was last in the Big Ten the season before she arrived. To make room, they had to cut someone lose and that was LWH. Given the opportunity, she left on her own to "pursue other opportunities". LWH's departure was triggered by Balcomb coming on board, not vice versa.
Because Wisconsin fired their coach who hired her.I think they lost some high profile recruiting battles with some very high ranked recruits...
