Gearlds says any further transfers unlikely

Per Mike Carmin’s reporting in Takeaways from Purdue athletics event in Fort Wayne. CKG also said the team would spend much of the summer workouts trying to institute a better defense. Gearlds also sounds excited to have Rutger’s Petree for the one year of eligibility she has remaining.

I am not excited about seeing us going to more zone defense, I think its okay to throw at teams now and then to throw them off their groove, but unless you are the more athletic team, a zone defense is pretty easy to get good shots against IMHO.

I attended the event in FW and spent a good 5 minutes talking with Coach. What a tremendous young lady!!! Very personable and honest about the current situation and clear minded about where they need to go. You quickly learn to love her genuine personality and loyalty to Purdue!
