Could you explain the difference between Scott and Lewjack.....(BTW - I love both players and think they represent what Purdue stands for)
I guess my point is that Lewjack was very frustrating in years 1 and 2 and made a lot of mistakes (mainly not understanding how to make it all the way to the rim and therefore missing a lot of layups) ...he dribbled a lot, caused turn overs and ill advised times...etc
Yet - Painter seemed to always believe in him and gave him the minutes to develop his game....and it paid off.
With Bryson, it always seemed that he had enough rope to make one mistake and then he was right back on the bench. There was no vote of confidence and in fact he was passed over many times when his specific skill set would have helped the team (see Cincy)
My theory is that because Bryson is emotional, at some point he got frustrated and said something about transferring and Painter's alarm went off and benched him for the rest of the season.
We all railed on Painter for continuing to play Ronnie after it was known that he wasn't going to adjust to Painter and that he was going to transfer. Maybe, Painter said never again....even if it hurts the team in the short run.
Either way...I'm curious about your thoughts regarding Painters willingness to let a young Lewjack figure it out on the court while not affording that same opportunity to Bryson.....(and for those that say he did...please read my point again...I am not saying he didn't get a chance to play...I am saying that he never got the vote of confidence from Painter)
