Good start, poor second half. I guess, thank you Canada for waking us up to realize this isn't a cake walk. We are losing at halftime. Buy just one point.

Lot of players getting time...cant seem to get in flow, poor defensewont surprise me if Purdue wins by 12+ New roles and the players we know that can play are so so. Gotta like the Canada center though

Lot of players getting time

All 12 guys got time in the 1st half which made for some interesting lineups that I don't expect to see when the games count. Sloppy at times on offense and some defensive lapses which I guess is expected for a first game and the reason for the exhibition tuneups. Let's see if they can tighten things up in the 2nd half.

why is Taylor shooting 3's ? offense is looking really sloppy towards the end of third quarter. Haas has looked good. however, we've committed several turnovers trying to get him the ball. FT shooting was kind of meh making 1 of 3 shots. Defense was meh. both V Edwards and Haas have 4 fouls at the start of 4th quarter.

a 5 point lead with 5 minutes left. Without has, our rebounding has looked bad. C Edwards has looked good and bad. eastern has looked ok with a quiet 7 points. Cline is active. Taylor has 4 blocks ! Purdue has 8 blocks. Canada is making a bunch of threes. 14 turnovers for us; 17 for Canada. 3 point game

4 point game with 2 mins to go. purdue is 8 of 12 for FTs in second half.

up by 6 now after Mathias pass to haas for the dunk. haas looked good when he is playing. But he started the 4th quarter with 4 fouls.

5 point game, 1 min left V Edwards drained two clutch Fts.

7 pt lead at 45 seconds as PJ hits 2 Fts. we've hit our last 6 fts.

Haas fouled out with 20 seconds left. with an 8 point lead.

we now have 6 point lead with 6 seconds. two very bad inbound passes by purdue.

Purdue wins 94-86.

I only was able to watch the second half:

two best newcomers were Eastern in the first half and Wheeler in the second. I never heard haarms or Ewing's names in the second half. When Eastern was playing, he was playing PG. Wheeler looked great, but made a few mistakes.

C Edwards was good and bad. Mathias was solid. Cline gave good effort. V Edwards had foul trouble, so wheeler stepped in to replace him in the second half.

Haas was leading scorer and basically the player of the game. We looked really bad without him. taylor had 4 blocks but was not doing very well rebounding.

Canada made a lot of 3 pointers, but they were all well defended. We (C Edwards, Taylor, Cline and Mathias) missed a lot of three pointers in the second half.

the two plays that stood out to me were Mathias pass to Haas for the dunk when Canada had cut our lead to 4 and was making a run. and the no look behind the back hot dog pass by Wheeler to has that Haas wasn't expecting and went for a turnover. Obviously, Wheeler and Haas had not communicated or practiced that move.

We had an 8 point lead when I started watching and we ended with an 8 point lead and hit 8 of 10 Fts in the last 3 minutes. not bad for a first game.

for the last 2 minutes in crunch time, the Purdue line-up was C Edwards, PJ, Mathias, V Edwards and Haas.

as I mentioned earlier, Haas was clearly the player of the game. it was a totally different ball game when he was on the court.

Haarms isn't eligible to play but can practice.

Seems like we will have a 9 man rotation for most of the WUG at least during close games. The starting 5 plus Wheeler, Taylor, Cline and Eastern. If we need a 10th guy, Grady Eifert seemed solid tonight.

Eifert playing ahead of Ewing??
Good to get the rust off, WUG will end up being very helpful for the young guys playing stressful minutes together.

I believe CMP will know so much more when the Team actually starts to practice for real in the fall, having watched his guys play 8-10 games together will be a great benefit!

Grady played about as well as he is capable...played a smart game. Ewing kinda lost in the shuffle tonight a bit. I think we will know more tomorrow than tonight about this team

Eifert was really good in both halves. Heady defender, generated several turnovers by the Canadiens, fought for rebounds, made good screens and cuts to get a couple layups.

This. He was a real disrupter on D. I was surprised he didn't play more.
