Lost 4 of their last 5. They were able to beat Michigan on January 4 but around that they've lost at MSU, at IU, and home and away against Iowa. They are still #10 in the NET rankings so a win would be huge. Other than this, the game at IU is our only other regular-season opportunity for a quality win.

Whew. Some of our worst play of the year in the first half and we lost two of our starters - Layden and Terry - to injury. I hope they can return but have my doubts - especially Madison.

Our shots have gone every which way but in. Nebraska has missed a bunch of. bunnies too - they should actually be up by 20.

Not a good game. Most teams have one like this every once in awhile. We were pretty much doomed when we fell behind by double digits and Madison was sitting behind the bench with an ice pack on her ankle. Then Ellis goes down with an arm injury

CKG said in her post game comments that Ellis will be okay but the condition of Madison’s ankle is unknown. Bemoaned the fact that we consistently let their freshman center Markowski score over her left shoulder when our players had been warned about that. And, of course, terrible 3PT and free throw shooting. When it rains, it pours

Hopefully we can forget this one and beat Northwestern in Mackey on Thursday.

Losing Madison crippled this effort, truly one of the only really bad games we've played. But they did keep fighting despite. But terrible shooting didn't help. Smith will be a star and she and Moore need to play more. Once again we got schooled inside because we don't have the players to compete. KG needs to bring in a really good transfer big and have Kyle back. Altho our schedule is a bit easier, if we lose Layton for a significant period of time, it will cost us badly. You can't lose your best all around player and leader and your tallest big and not be affected. That they keep hustling is a really good sign.

Yes about the bigs. This is our glaring weakness. But I am not sure Kyle will be much of an improvement over Woltman and Learn - at least this year. She has never been a good jumper and is a mediocre rebounder.

Kyle’s rebounds per min played (and mostly against inferior teams in the non-conf schedule) is only 0.29/min while Woltman’s is 0.28/min and Learn’s is 0.21/min and they were playing mostly against B1G bigs (Learn exclusively except for a couple of mins.. So not a lot of difference between Kyle and Woltman.

And defensively Woltman does not foul as much and is more agile. Kyle fouled 0.18/min played while Woltman has only fouled 0.13/min. Learn is even more foul prone than Kyle at 0.22/min but she is a frosh and still “learning.” Kyle does score more at 0.57 pts/min while Woltman scores 0.30 pts/min and Ava has scored 0.35 pts/min.
