Going to enjoy some of this rarely nice weather this afternoon and hit a beer garden. Don't want any distractions while I'm drinking my medicinal beverages. If any young man is going to commit, please do it now or within the next hour or so. Is that too much to ask?

Yes, I'm being selfish. :D

There is another crystal ball for Kane for us, but he is not set to announce until next week.

No bat signals that I have seen lately.

And can someone please provide a link to these oft quoted but never seen "Crystal balls"?

According to Twitter a commit is happening today. And according to 247 CBs, it will be Sanoussi Kane. Low 3* on 247's composite, but tested extremely well in almost every measure at The Opening with a score of 113 (I think it is basically a Sparq score)

Blairstown (NJ) Blair Academy safety Sanoussi Kane tells 247Sports he'll announce his college decision on June 29.

I thought we had another bat signal last night no? I can't get to twitter on my work 'puter.

According to this Garnett Hollis is committing tomorrow. It’s down to Purdue, Vanderbilt and Northwestern. He is a teammate of recent commit Antonio Stevens and was on official visit with him. What are our chances with him?

He tweeted to Antonio he can't wait to play against him every year, leading to believe he will choose northwestern. The tweet has been deleted, likely supposed to be a dm

Thanks. Would have liked to have gotten him but I think we’re in good with Kane and Melton. Speaking of which, does Purdue take both of them or how many DBs do we take in this class?

Really don't care about star rankings as i trust brohm. Really hope we start adding more speed to our defense with some new recruits tho. One thing we definitely wont need to worry about is skill positions on offense. Absolutely loaded at WR. Running back is looking good as well.

I care about star rankings because in general it does indicate talent level in a player. Not always obviously. Also, we want buzz and momentum to be associated with Purdue/Coach Brohm. Getting better recruits helps with that. If we had 8 - 2 star recruits right now, I think our talent level would not be as good. Some guys are under rated for sure (I think the OC recruit from Pa is one of those guys). I trust Brohm with his talent evaluation......but I trust it more with higher rated recruits.

I don't want 2 stars either. Was mostly referring to 3 star type kids who aren't flashy recruits but can still be very solid players.

Considering that there are only approximately 400 4-5 star kids out there and 65 p5 teams, the average share would be 6 per team. But alas we have to remember that recruit rankings are skewed to the south and west coast with fewer kids ranked higher in the north (but many times perform as well). This means that having 3-4 4,5 star kids in a given year is very good for a middle ( yes we're still here) p5 midwest team. The fact that there are no 2 stars if you include 247 and rivals together, means that CB is putting together another exceptional class for where we're at. We simply aren't going to outperform blue chips, not yet or foreseeable future. But, the train is rolling.
