For those that said...

Why won't it happen? His physique screams playing the 4, albeit in small increments. Is he not quick enough? CS sure wasn't last year...

From what I have read, he is still a year or so away. Still raw

Don't expect a ton from him this year.

Saw that Painter said it. We'll see exactly what that means. Everything from Swanigan and Barnes has always been that they want him to play the 4. Maybe they'll call him the 5 when Haas is off the floor but will he play that position in the same manner we've seen it played by Hammons and Haas or will he continue to find himself catching the ball facing the basket on offense instead of with his back to the basket in the post?

There's never been any question that Swanigan has some problems playing the 4 and is probably better suited to play the 5. The fact that he didn't have to play the 5 last season was the reason he came to Purdue to begin with. I really hope to see him posting up more this season, particularly when Haas is out of the game. I just realize that he and Barnes have been against this every step of the way and seem hell bent on him being utilized as a 4. I welcome a change in this mindset as I think it will be better for the team but I remain skeptical on exactly what we'll see.

If we see more of what we saw in the Wisconsin game last year at Mackey, it will be a welcome sight. He was unstoppable inside. Made baskets, drew fouls, it was great.
