For all of you experts on this board......

as was said, if he proves successful, he won't stay at purdue. He didn't stay at Mizzou. he didn't stay at Illinois. he won't stay at purdue. he'll check his ticket and move on.

I've never claimed to be an expert. and even I know this was a bad hire.

BOBO, this was the best you could do? at your next press conference, be honest and tell the truth. I can accept the truth. not this horrible positive spin you keep spewing out. I thought you were different than morgan. I guess not.

may be more of an indictment of our program than the AD

maybe the coaches Bobo tried to hire took a look at what is coming back next year, and decided to say the same thing brohm said, no thanks.
so i guess our schedule next year is pretty tough. I have not seen it yet. Then I see we are bringing back ND for 4 years. Why do we have to do this? The Big 10 schedule is hard enough. The ND schedule is tough for us. So if we play 9 Big 10 teams and one of the other ones is ND that leaves 2 lessor teams, why? Let me know what I have missed.

There is zero chance that Bobo comes out and says anything remotely coming close to who he went after and whiffed on.

And unless he was trying to WAY undersell the higher-profile names it's not his fault. People are overestimating how attractive a landing spot Purdue might be for a large chunk of the splashier candidates.

that's what I was saying.

.....what if Ryan Walters turns out to be really good?
Like I said in another thread: put me in the, “Well this has never worked here before, but I guess there’s a first time for everything” camp.

I hope he understands what type of offense has, and has not, worked historically at Purdue.

The trend line will need to be broken. Since the 1930’s Noble Keizer‘s success, very successful runs were followed by a number of years in the wilderness. Purdue has simply not been able to maintain success or even respectability after a good coaching run.

Boiler alum here...used to be heavily invested in the football program, but got burned out. Brohm barely had a winning record here. There were some good years under Tiller, but that waned. Prior to that you have to go clear back to a couple of seasons under Jim Young for anything to really cheer about. Let's face it, Purdue is a destination program in basketball. However, it's anything but that in football. To answer your question, this probably is the best BOBO can do. Yeah, it's underwhelming, and yeah, maybe the guy has a Brohm-like umbilical to Colorado. All we can do is hope for the best.
