Fletch is turning heel, and I'm here for it.

He did the big balls emote after his 2nd three pointer, and then dropped an F bomb in the postgame interview. I'm all about it...we need someone with attitude.
Is the interview online? Was it with the general media or a one on one interview? I want to listen.

It was the postgame with Painter, Edey and Fletch. First he bagged on Edey for using the word "versatility" by saying "I've never heard Zach use that big of a word before". He was talking about Purdue's depth and said "Morton was sitting down the entire game and came in at the end ready to f*cking win".

He starts at about the 3:10 mark in this video:

big balls emote? he could have posted a pic of those new ball hammock underwear briefs

I hope this is the start of a good streak for him, because we could really use 3 point shooters, but as stated earlier in this post, one game does not make a trend

All for it but...let's have this be a trend beyond one game before we throw Loyer a parade.
Agree... And if we're being honest, his shooting percentages were still very poor, and he hasn't shot it good going all the way back to last season. I'll give him credit for last night and helping will us to a win, but that was an exception, not the norm. Hopefully he starts shooting it better and the gritty play continues, because we really are going to need it in the b1g and the tournament.

Fletcher may not shoot a high clip but when the offense stalls in the half court hes the only guy that can get to the rim. When he does defense has to help and it opens the glass for Edey. Hes way more effective for the team then his FG % indicates.

It appears someone got in his ear and said you need to score, and I don't care how you do it or how many shots it takes, you need to be aggressive!

Frankly, if it's not Loyer, I don't see who it will be on this team. I'm sorry but I don't see Heide or Morton as scorers and Colvin isn't quite ready for the big stage.

I hear you as to Fletch’s fearlessness in taking it inside, but Braden has been equally effective at doing that, IMO
You dont really see Braden getting inside when the possession stalls though. Its more of screens or transition. When we cant get it to Edey and theres five seconds on the clock Fletcher is the only guy that doesnt have to pull a 25 footer

I see the same. Fletch has an important late shot clock role on this team and the way he draws help and puts the ball up softly on the rim, he seems to tee up a lot of Edey rebounds when those floaters don’t go in. I’d be interested on seeing the stats on that, if they exist.

clearly a guy that understands: Just get it on the rim and the best rebounder in the country has a good chance of doing something with it.

Smith had a huge layup at end of UT game and also two drives where he converted and edey had a put back at end of Marquette game. Very encouraged by Braden this year, he has another gear that he didn’t have last year with his explosiveness. He also was able to stop quick at the elbow and get his own shot off…needs to do it a bit more. Fletch was great too and hope we get this aggressiveness and execution from him in 2024.

I sometimes find myself shocked when he goes to the rim and scores in traffic...he's not the biggest of fastest guy but he makes it work.
