His decision to kick into the wind to start the 2nd half might have cost Minnesota a win.

OTOH if Blough hadn't given the Gophers an assist we wouldn't have needed to win in the fourth quarter.

Couldn't resist checking out the Minnesota football forum.....Man, Gopher fans Calling for Fleck's job. Saying they should have hired Brohm.....

Of course they should have, but CJB was already a Boiler when they fired their coach and picked up Fleck as the best remaining option. Fleck will be alright, but their team is so young and they can't do anything on offense. They are using a walk on at QB and are incredibly thin at WR and CB. That's fine if they run him off early, but that would be a mistake.

Purdue is a good football team. This isn't a bad loss for them even if Purdue has been terrible for the last 4 years. Purdue should get to a bowl this year, which sounds incredible! Especially doing it with the schedule they had. It's been an epic turnaround to this point.

I know I initially wanted Fleck, but by the end of the process it became clear CJB was the best option. I love all of CJB's ties to the Midwest recruiting and the man understands the game. The guy is a very solid coach. Once he gets some more weapons at WR and RB, he will get that offense clicking. Blough is a great QB that makes a handful of game losing plays every game. CJB doesn't tolerate those turnovers, but he also understands how good he is. I am very happy with the hire.
