We are playing a bunch of tough teams in November and December and they will be out the first time we lose a game (if we lose
).Ahh c'mon. I've got to deal with three 'Ainters that I graduated with 30 years ago. You know exactly the arguments. If they win a B1G championship it won't be enough. If they make it to the sweet 16 it won't be enough. A final four will give them pause. It's the perfect way to be a fan. You're always right until you reach your goal.
Probably time to give this whole thing a rest.
Why? The troll base won't when we lose.
It just shows how little they know when they spout their garbage and we end up getting a convincing win like this. Happened last season too yet they all were gone when we won the B1G.Pretty cowardly really.
The only good thing about them posting is that it helps you keep your ignore list up to date. You know that those that only come around when things a going bad or we lose are the ones that have no idea what they are talking about and will never have anything of worth to add. Kinda like those that bitch on the football forum, but either didn't even attend Purdue or disappear when we win.
Other problem is, some of them are iu people pretending to be Purdue people and there is zero moderation on the free board. It'd be pretty easy to clean this stuff up if there was just a little moderating that went on. Sure I could spend my time at other sites and trust me, I do, but I originally came here thinking this site was the main site for Purdue sports only to get mired down in the cesspool that these forums turn in to. So if I want a good discussion about sports, I go elsewhere, as this place just isn't the location it could be in that regard with just a little moderation.

You guys want THEM to act decent and then you act like Aholes? It was a great game and the team is playing well. Painter has assembled what appears to be a very good team. Let's all enjoy it and park the shit at the curb.

No, I’ve been the opposite. Really love Painter as a coach but also don’t think he walks on water and isn’t above criticism. After a few days of getting sucked into multiple regurgitated threads from 2015 and seeing response threads every single time we win a game, just find it a bit old and frankly very immature.
If we go undefeated (an impossibility) they still wont be happy.
Really? I don't even know who they are. But it doesn't matter. All this will end up doing is causing another pissing match. Enough of that going on everywhere else. Let's enjoy the moment. I am.
It's even more gratifying to hear the crickets from that handful of people who will be sure to let us hear it when we lose.

From what I saw of the team last night, there won't be many opportunities for anyone to gloat after a loss.

I agree their is a difference between being a fan and being a homer. Lets not forget painter had recruiting woes and lost the teams culture.
IMO Painter has done a much better job of recruiting since 2012, and has done a good job of not offering players who don't fit in. Its better to be undersigned than have disgruntled players who don't fit in the culture.
While I like Painter and think if we fire him their is a 90% chance we get someone worse. I also don't expect him to take Purdue to the next level. He doesn't recruit well enough or in game coach to win it all. But he is good enough to establish purdue as a tourney and borderline top 25 school year in and out.
He also reastiblished Purdue who lost their footing at the end of Keadys term and were in danger of falling down. He has reestablished the brand of Purdue basketball as being a tough defensive minded team that works hard. I like him because of this and am willing to live with his shortcommings. The future looks good and hopefully purdue will get lucky and sneak a final 4. The more you are in the tourney the more likely you are to get lucky and I see Painter leading Purdue to the tourney almost every year in the future.
Have Purdue got to elite 8 yet??? Guess not, you should ask this question after Purdue get into elite 8, then we can discuss this again.

No prob. I understand your sentiment given the performance of the team. Emotions and sports are intertwined and sometimes the result is a strong reaction one way or the other. Go Boilers!!!

I have little doubt they would make Tom Crean look like John Wooden comparatively.
I don't see this team losing to teams it's supposed to beat. If and when we lose it will be because this team was either out talented or just flat got beat by a better team that game. This team doesn't look like the type to beat themselves, too much veteran leadership to allow that.
Leave it to Boiled shorts to want to keep the fires burning. I have no doubt that you will always find a reason to bitch at someone.
I guess no one is immune today especially after seeing two MLB playoff teams fire their managers. That said, unless we go down the toilet with team performances over the next few years or some odd thing popped up about our leaders, this is unlikely and unwarranted. That's my thoughts.

Disagree here. Even if this team wins all the games they are supposed to, there will probably be a game somewhere in the schedule were they beat themselves. It may be against a very good team that people say we should loose, but this scenario has a good probability of happening.
There always seems to be one or two head-scratchers or a lost opportunity ....Nebraska/Iowa last year, perhaps. No trip to the "Tomb" this year.
The conference opener on the road in a couple of weeks @ Maryland will be a good test right off the bat, IMO.
This is where I think the WUG games and the experience there will help. It certainly seemed to help on our last game when we had to remain poised to pull out a good win.
Probably so, but some of that is a function of playing a 31-game regular season. There's bound to be an off-night in there somewhere.
That said, I don't see this team beating itself very often. When it loses, it'll probably be to teams that are just better or conference road games against comparable competition. But every team in the country is going to lose at least a few of those this year.
You're right, your post factually proved my point. So again, thanks and now I will move on to actual basketball discussion like I just did above and let you keep bringing this up and proving my point over and over again.

Agree, rarely if ever have i seen that poster discuss basketball. It's always calling others posters trolls and berating them for not having the same opinion as him.
