Fire Gard!

I don't think his end of game management was very good. He had 2 TO left when they hit the go ahead 3 in the final 1/2 minute. I think he should have used a TO after it went in to set his D. Everyone knew ND was going to push it up court and get a quick 2, which they did in about 3 seconds. But, he has 1 S16 in 4 months of work with a team that had 1/2 the talent of Purdue is a pretty good start to a coaching career.

The great Mark Few had a bit of a collapse. Had some trouble with a press, scores 3 points in last 6 minutes and loses a late lead.

It's college basketball people. Happens to lots of teams, not just Purdue.

and hire a real coach. Inexcusable to lose a lead like that! Right???
I'll bet he would be fired if he finishes last in the big 10 2 years in a row and fails to go any further in the tournament within the next 10 years. Are you OK with our total collapses at the end of games just because it also happens to other teams? My opinion is give Painter 2 more years to improve the guard play and reassess the situation then.

Are we going to have one of these pop up every time a team loses now?
Apparently so....even though 99% of them are comparing apples and oranges. This one, for example. This guy has coached less than a year and is already one sweet sixteen away from matching Painter's resume.

When did Mark Few become great? I've always thought of him as a good recruiter that can't coach. His teams are always highly ranked and the flame in the tournament. I don't think he's great at all. Dan Monson was very successful with the Zags as well and flamed when he coached Minny.

What ?
The guy has been ACTING head coach at Wisconsin LESS than 1 full season and has already taken his team to 50% of the entire number of times that CMP has taken his team to the sweet sixteen.
How about this, can we trade Painter for Gard?
But if he didn't get to the FF in 2 years, you would be looking to trade him for the next hot commodity.

Clearly he must go. Inexcusable to lose a game like that. Bo Ryan never won a national championship at Wisconsin and then they hire someone from his tree as the next coach. I guess they are like the Settlers in the DirecTV commercial. Happy just to be very good and not great. Come on Barry Alvarez!! High risk = high reward!!!

Wow. Can't say I'm surprised. At least you are consistent in your asinine views.

As are you. The difference is mine are sarcasm.

What a relief Tommy! I'm honestly happy that your posts are sarcasm. Next time I see you defending Painter not winning a tourney game since his extension and raise 4 years ago or talking about how he is a very good coach despite 2 S16 appearances and 1 shared B1G championship in 11 years, I will know you're being sarcastic.
