Yeah, he can be annoying but he absolutely nailed it when he pointed out the turning point of the game immediately after it happened and correctly predicted how Purdue would get back in the game.
I feel like when he does our games he treats us pretty well. To be honest I'd take him over most.
Of course he is correct during the game because he throws dozen's of promises about what is going to happen and talks himself up when one actually comes true. I wasn't a fan of what Ronnie Johnson said about Walker but it literally had no place in the commentating during today's game. He threw it out there to kiss Purdue fan's asses and I'm sure half of em ate it up.

This thread should be deleted. Crean should be given an infinite extension.
I have never had an issue with Dakich. Having said that, I would rather have Dakich covering our games than Digger Phelps....ANYDAY.
I agree. Tonight he really sounded like he was pulling for us.
He's still Hoosier to the core of course and he may talk dirty about us elsewhere. But on TV, I feel like he gives us pretty good nod.
The only thing Digger should cover is his damned mouth.
Thankfully, "no roads from South Bend to West Lafayette" Phelps has already retired from broadcasting.
I actually like DD as a color man. Good content, great insight, and seems to be pretty even keeled when it comes to praise/criticism against players.
Not a big DD fan, but lately he really has been pretty good to the Boilers. I'll give the guy credit. But, on a side note.....never, I MEAN NEVER fire Crean. I'm no more scared of him than Knight in the last few years. Keep the Creep!!
DD Speaks highly of the team, Painter, and gives us fair assessments. I like him for the most part!
Gotta remember that one of Matt's friends growing up was Pat Knight. Matt spent a few weekends at the Knights during AAU
For awhile, I was convinced "Digger" had pictures or knew where some bodies were buried....on the flip side, some of his comments and other antics with Vitale were so outrageous, it was actually comical.....at least for a little while. Then came the damn highlighter.
or Jim Calhoun. Dakich was very good today, yea he's an iu guy but lay down your prejudice.
Yes! I think Calhoun is probably a brilliant basketball mind (guided UConn to 4 national titles) but the problem is that I need a translator to understand what the (blank) he is saying. I can never understand him! He always runs all of his words together very quickly.
