With 3 games left, Purdue goes on the road to Northwestern (hard game to win), then to Iowa (even harder), and then back to RA for the bucket game finale (clearly the most winnable of the 3 but no gimme)

If it were set in stone that Purdue was to go 1-2 over these next 3, but you could pick the 1, which one would you pick?

° Northwestern? - to exact some revenge on them for last year's a$$-kicking at home? (and/or to prevent them from possibly setting a new school record for wins this year?)
° Iowa? - because it would be an amazing top-10 road win? (and/or to help bolster the phony rivalry with the hated Hawks?)
° IU? - because it's Indiana and 3 straight years without the bucket is practically unheard of?

Indiana without a doubt...mainly because any slip up by Iowa makes the conference look incredibly weak. Plus, if Iowa and OSU win out, they face as undefeated top 4 (maybe #1 and #2) teams for the conference championship. That bodes well for the B1G as a whole. Hell, if it ends up being a close game and OSU loses to Iowa, you could be looking at OSU and Iowa getting in to the playoff. That would be really good for the B1G...remember, every one gets a share of the bowl revenue!

Interesting... I hadn't thought about the revenue implications; I was thinking about the question more in a vacuum, but you bring up a good point about real-world implications. By putting 2 teams into the playoffs, would the B1G (and its teams) truly get twice as much money as if only 1 B1G gets in? I don't have any idea how that works.

Any chance of that happening hinges on Iowa winning out and beating OSU for the championship; I can't see the committee evening considering Iowa if the opposite were to happen. And even then, I'd think OSU might need some help to get in with 1 loss (such as Baylor or OKST dropping a game).

I dunno about that logic. Iowa is a good team, but they aren't undefeated regular season good. They will get crushed and embarrass the Big Ten if it gets that far. They need to come down to reality a bit. Us beating them may not be it though.

I'd be very surprised to see Ohio State make the playoff if they lose to Iowa.

I will say, looking at the playoff rankings, I'm surprised how much different they are than the polls. Obviously there's still a lot of time left, but there definitely appear to be some biases.

I think out take from last years playoff was $3 mil. I seriously doubt that more than 1 team from B1G will get selected. And we may get none if OSU loses to MSU or MI and they beat IA in the B1G championship.

I mean, if that's what we're choosing our wins off of, we are in trouble. I guess misery loves company.
We'll be better off as a program with IU sucking, like they usually do. Can't argue that wouldn't help in-state recruiting. Wilson is their best coach since Mallory in my opinion, and no way Glass finds anyone better than him.
