Yesterday was disappointing, it is frustrating whenever Purdue or whoever your team is loses like that. I get it. However, it's over and time to learn from mistakes and focus on the NCAA tourney.

Finish has been this teams slogan all year, and more times than not they have gutted out some close wins and improved in this area over Purdue teams from the past few seasons. They were out of the Big Ten regular season race early and closed out the 2nd half of the season strong to win the title. For whatever reason they have played better when they have their backs against a wall and need to respond.

This teams main goal all year has been to make a run in the NCAA. Yes, I would have loved to enter the NCAA on a hot streak, but I still think this team will be ready to make a run come Thursday, especially after a loss that stings like the one to Michigan.

Get out of the first round and the pressure will be off, and this team should be pretty loose against whoever they see after that. Outside of Duke, UCLA, Oregon, UNC, I think Purdue can have chance to win against any other team in the field this year.

Side Note: Duke played the best stretch of basketball I have seen this season when they made that 2nd half run against UNC last night. Tatum, Kennard, and Allen are scary good. Want them as far away from Purdue as possible when the bracket comes out on Sunday.

I don't think it is if they are a 4 or 5 seed.

But we don't know what seed we are. We don't know what seed we will play and we don't know what team we will play if we win the first round. Being a 4 or 5 doesn't guarantee that we will play either a 4 or 5 in the second game.

Uhhh....They are in the 4 to 5 seed range now. The 2011 team lost to VCU. Some common sense division gives the team ~28% chance to reach the Sweet Sixteen.

VCU had SHaka and some damn good playground players who loved his style. They beat more than just Purdue. This is not the 2011 team ... or even close to it. I'll accept the math 'cuz I don't want to do it myself. Is that the same for all teams? I assume it is. I think this team is as good as most teams from 3 down to 20. There are several that I think cause us matchup problems (Louisville...) but overall, we compete with them. There are at least four teams below 20 that present matchup problems for us. If they are a in our path, so be it. If not, this can be a sweet 16 team. If we run into one of the specific match-up problems, then it will depend on if we get refs that call fouls in the paint, if our guards hit 3s like the have most games this season, if Haas hits the 3 footers and if we hit FTs at the end. Other than that, predict away ....

No. Getting into specifics, it's different for each team. If you do a simple 50% chance each game its 25% to get to the Sweet 16 for each team.

If you're basing your prediction solely on math, sure you're right. If you're saying you watch the team and see them losing in the second round - then yeah, it's a bit silly without knowing situations.

I mean, if we're a 5 seed, in theory we're only supposed to win 1 game.
