How can you go from a tie game at halftime, with a chance to go ahead before halftime, then get blown off the field , all in the 3rd quarter. Gotta be finding ways to do it, unreal!

The same way a basketball team can hang on for a half or so and end up losing by 30...eventually talent takes over. Recruiting has been abysmal under Hazell. Kudos to our guys for the first half performance, but we are on the wrong side of huge mismatches all over the field.

Recruiting, no plan, losing culture. We could not get rid of Hazell soon enough. He may well be the worst Purdue coach ever and I do remember Fred Akers.

Announcers basically making this point on the ESPN2 broadcast.

I think it was a natural let down for PSU in the 1st half after their big win last week. Halftime they probably got an earful.

we shot ourselves in the foot the whole second half. throwing into double coverage for an int on the opening drive of second half followed by a muffed punt for another quick score and then to top it off, down only ten we try an onside kick which failed and gave them their third easy score of the quarter. bad decisions and who knows why the punt was muffed, my guess is lack of concentration. 21 easy points and the game was over. we fell apart completely after that

See folks - THIS IS WHAT A BARE CUPBOARD LOOKS LIKE!

Not really sure if it's an indication of us doing anything too differently in the halves. Personally I just think our opponents haven't come ready to play the last two weeks. They go into halftime of a close game with us and their embarrassed coaches lay into them. Then they come out in the second half focused and giving effort and dominate us.

I liked the onside kick - we were never going to consistently stop their offense with our beaten down, talent-poor defense. Might as well do it before they are looking for it.

Didn't mind the idea but the kick was terrible.

As for whether or not it was unexpected, the guy doing the game on TV certainly called it before it happened. He pointed out that Yancey was on the field and said he thought it would be a good spot to try it.

Don't know if PSU picked up on it or not. We certainly would have had a chance at it on a good kick.
