I expected IU to fold like a deck of cards today, but they showed some life. It had to be doubly painful after this difficult week to watch Yogo short arm the last shot he will probably take at Assembly Hall. My heart broke for the kid. He was warrior. He'll make dough in some pro league. I wonder if he speaks any foreign languages. That would certainly give him a leg up.

Not sure if you are ripping him or giving him his due but I will admit he scared the crap out of me both games we played. He was the one guy who could take us down.

Yeah I felt bad, if he was smart he would take that transfer over our way with a team of friends and bring the state a title. Its not like we cant sell that..... Won't happen because of loyalty

That certainly would make him a legend in the Hoosier state. He should consider it if the opportunity is there. Doubt Matt would take him though. He probably doesn't want to see any of the locker room problems move north.

Not trying to sound like a prick here, but.....Why feel sorry for a person who was allowed to play after breaking team rules? Why feel sorry for a person who did what he was given a free education from a major university to do? Why feel bad for a person who's been allowed the opportunity to perform on one of the world's largest stages....an opportunity that any of those kids sitting in the stands would have loved to have had.

Sorry, I've never been a Yogi fan. He chose IU, and he deserves what he got. No matter what Dakich said today, there's not much room in the league for a 5'9" player who chokes at the end of the game. It's time for lil' Yogi and his overbearing mama to move on.

JMHO

Well, Twin, you're entitled to your opinion. I think the kid has a good chance of playing overseas. There are many leagues out there. As long as he can assimilate, he'll play for pay.

MK, I can't disagree with you that he might play in Europe or South America. I just don't think he's good enough in the decision making department to be a legit PG in the NBA. What was today, the fourth game where Yogi has taken the last shot, or threw away the last pass this season that cost IU a chance at winning? I'm going to be very surprised if JBJr. is back next year too.

Re: Feeling bad for Yogi why wouldn't he stick around...

and get to play for clappy for another year and get his degree so at least he can make burgers after he graduates.

I'm sorry, but are you actually trying to say that Yogi should have not been allowed to play again after trying to sneak into Kilroy's with a fake ID during Little 5 Week? Really?

oh, and I Have stood next to Yogi multiple times and he is not 5'9".

not surprised that you guys are focused on IU, but try to have just a shred of objectivity when you obsess.

Court, let me ask you an honest question....Did Yogi break team rules? Did others do the same? Was an IU player ran over by another IU player? Was HMP arrested for driving down the sidewalks of Bloomington? Wasn't it widely speculated at that time that Yogi was, or had been in that same car that night?

That's Crean's MO....skirt the rules and look the other way. He deserves the pain and agony he's getting right now.

Now for that question....You've always been a big Crean guy. Do you still want him back next year? Honestly?

And Yogi is a whole lot closer to 5'9" than he is to the reported 5'11".

The Yogi and the car thing is a pretty big stretch. Doubtfull that's true. Seems like a fine young man. No comment on a couple others down there.

Jad, all I'm saying is that it was speculated that there were others in the car with HMP and that Yogi may have been one of them. Good kids do dumb things and Yogi was caught after HMP got busted.

True, I'm just glad I didnt get put under a microsope when I was a teenager. Ida been Satan lol

I literally laughed out loud when I read that. I mean he couldn't of been serious when he posted that could he?

Re: JOTD

courtsense, you are objective??? Ha!!!!!!!!!!

You got called out over on peegs the other day by the posters there for making false claims about what was being posted by me and others here. Your colleagues came over here and read the board and then posted that you were making things up. The thread is still posted over there for all to see. (It's the one about Purdue being down to Illinois early in Saturday's game.)

So that means you hate Crean? Because you sure hate Knight. I've never seen you post an objective post about RMK, or a positive one for that matter.

No I don't hate Crean
I am an RMK fan, just objective.
Objectivity generally feels like hate to those on either fringe.

hope that helps

I can tell right now that this thread is going to be productive and basketball focused, not. Best to leave this thread at this point and not follow up.

Not going to comment on the fact that you lied about us speaking poorly about yogi? Thought you'd avoid that.

Absolutely. It wasn't a lie.

BTW Ace...

Haha so you can find proof that we were badmouthing yogi? Good try bud. How's your Purdue obsession treating you these days?

courtsense, it is a fact that:

1. you posted a comment on Peegs claiming that I and others were trashing Yogi. That comment is still posted.

2. others followed up on your comment by coming over here and reviewing what was said.

3. upon doing so, they posted that you were speaking falsely.

4. the posters that chided you were not Purdue fans but rather IU fans so their was no pro-Purdue bias for them.

There is a written record that still is available for all to see that demonstrated what I have posted is correct. You claim that what you posted was not a lie.

You demand that others replly to you. Well, don't people about whom you have made a false charge have the same entitlement? Please explain your behavior.

We are wating............

You are right Arcb. Calling Yogi "overrated" and a "whiny bitch" while not so subtly implying that he was in the car with HMP and that he should not have ever played again, and that he will enjoy his time at IU ( whatever parts he can remember) is extremely complimentary. And to use your own logic on you...the fact that you did nothing to stop this clearly proves you agree. ( note: I don't really mean that, just demonstrating Arcb logic).

Courtsense, there is a problem with your response - namely the timeline. If you look at the thread, TD2's comment re the car etc. were made at 6:30 PM on 3/9 as they appear in this thread. However, if you look at when you posted your comment, it was at 6:04 PM on 3/7. So in order for your response to be true, then you would have had to know what TD2 was going to post 2 days and 26 minutes beforehand. Is reading minds one of your skills?

Plus, I did not even see the end of the game in question as I was running an errand. I'd like to know what I said.

Also, thinking someone is "overrated" is "trashing"? That may be true in courtsense's world but the rest of your colleagues seem not to agree - nor do most other people. I have watched the IU crowd chant "overrated" on television to opposing teams. Does that mean that they were trashing them? It would seem so according to your standard.

Plus, you haven't explained why your colleagues had come to a very different view from you. They were very clear that you were wrong wothout question.

Nice try, but it doesn't work.

Still waiting........
