It has bugged me for awhile now that bowl bound teams get extra practice time. Non-bowl teams who could maybe use extra practice time to develop are not allowed to participate. Its always said that a team can have 15 practices, but according to the story I link below, that is not true. (unless the rule has changed since the story. This could give a new coach, or a young team, or a young quarterback a bit more time to develop.
Hopefully, Purdue will never be a non-bowl team again (see additional bowls info), but like I said, it does seem counter-intuitive to me. I know its recruiting time and all, bit teams could structure as they choose.
