Listen everybody, one game doesn't define a season. Was it a tough loss? Absolutely. But looking at all of these posts recently, everyone seems to be a bit dramatic. Minnesota is better than people give them credit for. They will be a good team this year. But purdue has been known to have some questionable losses and rebound. North Florida and I believe Gardner Webb (?) 2 years ago, Iowa at home last year, etc. Those losses sometimes don't make a whole lot of sense but the results show we will not back down. We are a damn good basketball team and one game shouldn't define us.

These boys will be extremely hungry to get back out there on Thursday in Columbus and students will be back in full force on Sunday when we face Bucky.

It's a long season and we have PROVEN to play with the best. Don't give me this "Fire Painter" shit. It's one game. Let's bounce back and start winning like we normally do. A conference title is still very well in the picture.

Oh that North Florida game where the asst coach called an O/b's play that beat Purdue since they were in a zone. It was mostly due to AJ playing man up on the trigger man and then once inbounds he would go back to his area and North Florida just floated a player for return pass to where AJ was no longer located. I didn't like the way Matt played the 2-3 on out of bounds. Bjut yeah, Purdue will be back to playing good ball and don't think OSU will be an easy out as they have some talent!

When we lose in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament again this year...we will look back at a loss at home to Minnesota and say we should have seen the early exit coming. You don't lose at home to Minnesota...and think you will make noise in the tournament.

I do have some concerns having watched the game on Sunday, but a lot of good teams have a bad loss or two. Let's hope we can beat Ohio State and then get ready for Wisconsin.

Typically you would expect a B1G champion team to win all its home games. I would guess without looking back that a majority of B1G Champs have done so. So given the team goal of being B1G Champs and the fans knowing that.....that is probably why you see the frustration and disappointment with the home loss.

You're kinda vague. Purdue can very easily lose in the first round. There are a lot of upsets throughout. If you are saying that athletic teams that have refs that allow more athletic play to happen...you bet...Purdue could get beat particularly if not shooting well. If you are saying that if a person has a career night Purdue could get beat...that too is true. Purdue can get beat a lot of ways. Purdue can also win a lot of ways. Match ups will be a factor and just how typical of a game each team plays when playing each other will be a factor. Are you trying to suggest that Purdue is beatable? Yes ,they are. However, they are pretty good and if games go true to form they have a good chance of winning. It is just that the tourney is a single elimination tourney, not who is the best team day in and day out. Purdue is very beatable...athletic teams with length can be a problem for Purdue...like Louisville and Minny?

There is a bright side to Purdue losing. Otherwise we wouldn't even know that you exist.

Win at Minny and this is moot.......

Just one game...Big Ten winner will have 3 to 4 losses......

If we start losing like IU, then get concerned......

Purdue does not play at Minny, so it will never be a moot point that they lost to them at Mackey and should not have.

How many ever losses the ultimate winner has, if it happens to be Purdue or IU, it will have at least one more than it should have had...and, if it is someone else, it will likely be in part due to Purdue and IU having at least a loss that it should not have.

IU is a more talented team than Purdue......I would argue that they are the most talented team in the conference...and while they have made winning the regular season title a long shot, they still are a team that could be very dangerous and capable of getting on a role given the depth and talent that they have.

What a surprise you come out and slobber all over iu! If there was ever any doubt that you are really a loosier and not a Boiler, this erases all doubt.

Now you've been outted, go back to your loosier forum.

WOW!!!!!! Let the rest of us know when you wake up from your IU Crean Dream........

Wow, Was it a bad loss. Well, yeah, you never want to lose at home. But, to now predict a first round loss is pretty immature...and short sighted. Even though it could happen. Everyone who think the league champ will have one loss raise your hand..........crickets.

Agree it stings to lose early at home, but the good news is that we are likely home favorites in all remaining games except wisconsin.

with the students back and some newfound focus, I think we can get the W sunday and still be in good position to compete for the league title.
i would be more surprised if we did not.

Purdue was a home favorite in the Minnesota game...a double-digit one at that.

Students are not back on Sunday either...not that it should matter or have any bearing on what happens anyway. It was a great atmosphere on Sunday...that is not the issue.

To win the conference, you have to win at home...Purdue did not do that last Sunday, and can't afford to not do it again this Sunday...especially if they come up short tomorrow night on the road which is not the unlikeliest of things.

this isn't a student ticket game? that sucks, I assumed it would be if classes start the following day.

agree we need to win at home from here on out to ensure a chance of a league title.
i just think pu will be favored to do so and 'should' be able to (have to upset wiscy though too)
