Evander Craft Outside Linebacker Commits

some interesting comments in a linked interview. he said he went to the Purdue summer camp and they were keeping tabs on him. . it also said they only had one more scholarship to give to linebackers, so they were giving it to him.

24/7 rates him as a 3 star .86 grade which would make him our highest ranked commitment of the 2018 class.

I guess his statement about being the last LB scholarship rules out Kyle Wright, Dequan Jackson, and the other linebackers we were targeting.

he's headed towards graduation and will have 3 years to play two. . he indicated coach said he would play immediately.

We must continue recruiting Chicagoland. Years ago, that was out primary source of athletes in all sports.
With over 3-4 million people in Illinois north of Interstate 80, it's foolish not to hit Rockford, Quad Cities, Chicago and all the burbs for FB and BB talent.
Every B1G School cherry picks kids out of IL, except maybe Rutgers or Maryland. CJB could find talent for every position on the field, don't get me wrong, Coach knows where to look, if we end this year with a decent showing with vast improvement, then recruits will know this rebuild is REAL, and PU is gonna be back and is backing down from no one! Boiler Up!!

and Mason Parris.

Mason Parris said about a month ago he was planning on wrestling. If he does have a change of heart. I'd def love to have him at LB

Number 1 JuCo OLB per 24/7. Fills a big need. I wonder how much not being a mid year guy affected getting offers.

I'm fine with it. Let Dawson, Simmons, Chelf, Jones, Barnes and Larry get spring ball reps then bring in Craft and Alexander to compete in fall

I think the quotes recently about the guys that came a bit late were also very telling about the staff. Brohm allowed himself and his staff to take the blame about some guys not being up to speed and said it was up to them in the coming weeks to get them where they need to be to help the team and be successful. I think that is very telling in that Brohm has very high expectations for his players BUT at the same time is seen as a players coach. I think that is what got Hope in trouble...he was a players coach but one who was probably lax in his want to push his players harder.
