Garbage and as always they don't see the big picture......http://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...teams-winners-losers-early-nba-draft-deadline

Not as much as you think...the two headed monster of Taylor and Ewing will pick up 85% of that and Dakota will always be around the ball like he was last year.Loss as in rebounding and I feel Swanigan was a leader by his example of desire to get better and give 100% everyday.
I look for a really good team, i like your positive tone. Not as much as you think...the two headed monster of Taylor and Ewing will pick up 85% of that and Dakota will always be around the ball like he was last year.
Give Boogie a year under his belt to rotate down more for rebounds and bigger guards in Eastern and Cline...I think we will have it covered.
The effort part, you have to figure the seniors took notice of Biggies effort put forward and I think Taylor and Edwards carry that torch forward by showing by example and hard effort.
My biggest fear are the practices......some talented young men going at it and I just hope the family bond ight as it has been and they all work together as a team to do great things!
Next year to me is so exciting....Taylor is back and will show out...Ewing is a blue collar beast and can't wait to see effort and Wheeler and Eastern are so athletic......Haarms will shine too.....and the growth of Boogie will be awesome.
We should be top 15 all year.......everyone better take notice Purdue is coming for ya!
Boiler Up!

I don't think ESPN projection is all that unreasonable. Purdue was somewhere between a top 15-25 team last year, with a pretty dominate go-to player in CS. Generally, it's hard to be much better than a top 20 team without at least 1 really good player to lean on that can dictate a game on one end of the floor or other. Purdue just lost the only player that fit that category and you're objecting to the idea that maybe 5-10 teams in all of D1 move up and surpass Purdue to start out the season rankings?Garbage and as always they don't see the big picture......
Purdue will be pre season top 25 and IMO be in top 15 all year.
Boiler Up and quit reading ESPN anything.....garbage.
Doesn't matter where we start, it matters where we finish. Look at IU this past season top ranked to NIT and frankly I'd rather start at 25 without Biggie and work our way up. Might take some pressure off the team (in theory) while new rotations and such are worked out.
It might be a bit bumpy to start next season, but by the end I think we'll still be sitting at another 20 win season and trip to the NCAA.
Further to your point, when teams in your conf are ranked high, when you lose to them you drop less and when you win you get lots of credit. See the "ACC effect" last year (they should start calling it that).I actually think it does matter where you start. Not as much as where you finish but if you start off ranked you get the benefit of the doubt more often than teams expected to be middle of the road or poor. It's much harder to move into the top 10 or 15 starting out unranked compared to being in the top 25. We won't get treatment like Duke and MSU do when they lose and don't hardly drop and shoot up the rankings after a single big win but there is an advantage perception wise as well as the end of the year when it comes time to select seeds.
