Maybe I don't watch enough basketball but I didn't realize Jim Calhoun called games.
I actually prefer him ahead of some of the others that tend to have a bias toward 1 team or another because they coached or played in the B1G. I think he gives a pretty non bias opinion since he doesn't have a rooting interest.Calhoun has that east coast accent and talks really fast and low. Sounds like he has marbles in his mouth.
All that said, some on the main board love him doing their games, to each his own. I'm just really glad we are on ESPN! I wish it wasn't a 9:00 start (going to be a very late drive back to FW). But let's have a great game and crowd and whip some worthless nuts!!
I guess I'm in the minority. I like him too. He and Bardo are probably my 2 favorites.I actually prefer him ahead of some of the others that tend to have a bias toward 1 team or another because they coached or played in the B1G. I agree. I just can't understand what he is saying half the time!!I actually prefer him ahead of some of the others that tend to have a bias toward 1 team or another because they coached or played in the B1G. I think he gives a pretty non bias opinion since he doesn't have a rooting interest.
Thanks I thought my hearing was going...I can't understand him, he just mumbles.
Rece Davis also doesn't know the difference between hosting a show and calling a game still either. Tries way too hard.
Are you kidding... his call "BAPTIZING THE MASSES" on JO's dunk at IU last year is an instant classic.Agree; I definitely like Rece Davis better in the studio. I think it also may be due to the after-affects of spending that much concentrated time with Vitale and Phelps over the previous years.
