Thought this was an interesting quote, "Barnes led Tennessee, which secured a No. 1 ranking during the 2018-19 season, to the Sweet 16, where the Vols lost to Purdue in overtime in one of the greatest games in NCAA tournament history.".

Who agrees? I thought it was a great game, but one of the greatest of all time? I wonder if we'll ever see Purdue involved in such dramatic games during the tournament again...

Purdue delivered this year in regards to the matchups given them. The last two Purdue games were must see tv. That has to bode well in the future with the ncaa tournament committee.

Purdue definitely was involved in the two best/most entertaining games of the tournament. Cline’s performance against Tennessee and Carsen’s performance against Virginia were outstanding and incredible to watch. The final four would have been better with Purdue, but I am admittedly quite biased.

The most recent great game is always the greatest game in history.

If there were a list of greatest games in NCAA tournament history, you are unlikely to find a game from the '50's or possibly even the '60's in the list even though they are as likely to have happened then as they have in the last 10 years.

This is on the money. A phrase such as "one of the greatest/most exciting games in recent memory" or some such would be much more accurate.

Few people in general and journalists in particular do not take a historical view when making pronouncements of this or that being "the greatest." Such circumspection does not jibe with the current atmosphere of Hot Takes.

This is why mocks have trailer park Ty Jerome going in the late first round... Check back and see where he is after the combine

Next year's committee will have forgotten about those 2 games and they should. You don't get bonus points based on playing exciting games in previous years. Plus, Carsen and Cline will not be on the team.

Just wait a minute.....Zion Williams was not in any of these games...tic
