Haven't had time to watch any of the E8 games. Do any of the teams run anything similar to Purdue's offense? Or was it just dynamic guards taking over as in Miami and TX....but note only got to watch last 10 minutes of that game. Curious?

To me, it is the dynamic guards, with support from their athletic and generally skilled front courts. Again to me, it is more of an AAU, undisciplined style offense of which I would deem many shots are ill advised, but with the talent of their guards, it works for them.

I think one commonality that I've noticed is that their guards and wings don't seem afraid to take a big (and often times "crazy") shot. Outside of Carsen and Cline in 2019 I don't recall any one else from recent memory that did that for us. Now that I think about it, Robbie in 2012 against Kansas in the R32 also.

remind me of SO MANY screams I made in the last few weeks: SHOOT THE DAMNED THING!. Hell, we were damned high on the offensive rebounds list. No one wanted to shoot it.

Guards and athletic wings. I guess I would also add athletic bigs. Do you see a theme here!! None of them run an offense like we did. I agree with others that at times it seems chaotic but with the athletes they have it works and much harder to defend.

I'd much rather us have several players that are 6'4" - 6'10" that could switch at will and all take an outside shot/drive if needed.
