I hope that Bo might get Bees’ input on a new coach. I am sure Brees has many connections. What does everyone think?

He’s always wanted to be an Aggie…

Bobinski would be smart to reach out and try to mend fences here. Saw him at a Texas, LSU and TAMU game. Never at a Purdue game this year…

I would say that he would get some input on this.

If he puts input in our next QB though, I hope this one is better than Card.

I might be the only one here that thinks this but I think Card has all the skills I'd want in a QB. I think he was in a position this year where it was next to impossible to succeed and he became the scapegoat for a team full of problems.

If Card had played under Brohm instead, I think we would all have seen a very productive.....and winning....college quarterback.

People really need to let this go.

He grew up in Texas. With no other ties to Purdue, wtf wouldn't he have wanted to be an Aggie or Longhorn. He was at an A&M game and talking to Manziel.

It's not like he came out saying he regretted coming to Purdue or never wants anything to do with the program. Total nothing burger

Agreed. Seemed like Card had the tools, but he wasn't put in a position to succeed. I think he eventually got gun shy and lost his confidence which is why he development happy feet and couldn't set up in the pocket to go through his reads.

I do think that Card has skills to be a decent college QB. He has to improve on this accuracy for sure, but college coaching could help that. We had the worst WRs in the BT for sure, so that did not help him. I would not have a problem, if we let them all go and start over (not Klare, but he is a TE).

The one thing that disappointed me is that he was supposed to be a dual threat QB, but he never used his legs. We have a poor OL obviously, so the pocket collapses quickly. He had 2 to 3 games not this year, but last year, where he actually was a dual threat. He had a couple of good games. Maybe it was Walters that told him not to run this year, not sure.

Re: Card

Agree with the above in the Card seemingly has a lot of the physical tools you'd want in a QB. Unfortunately, I don’t think he has the ability to really make plays when needed.

Somebody said it before. Gunshy.

Our OL was not great but I think it all compounds itself with an average OL, a bad scheme, a bad OC and probably below average WRs. Throw in a team with little discipline and less confidence of course we suck.

Card has some skill. He throws a catchable ball. Don’t think he’s got an elite arm though and certainly doesn’t on deep balls. I think he is a true air raid QB. Short, quick accurate throws.

What we were successful at this year (broken offensive plays, making plays out of the pocket) doesn’t fit what he’s good at as a passer.

I’m not a fan…I think it’s time to move on and for the next coach to bring his guy and beg Davila/Browne back…whichever fits their offense the best.

Cards like a lot of guys here…would have been at least competent with better coaching.

Are you sure, word on the street is that CJB sucks as a coach.......

Those few games when he used his feet he was extremely good. Why didn’t he do that more? I don’t know but it appears he was told to stay in the pocket. I don’t recall ever seeing a roll out called for him.
