Basically talked about all the coaches who showed up to watch Southport(Scruggs) vs NC(Wilkes). Most of article talks about UK and IU. Says how the two players mentioned Coach sat with Crean. How Wilkes is a virtual IU lock. Groce was in house as was a late arriving Holtmann. Painter wasn't reported being there. I can't imagine if he was he wouldn't Not get mentioned. Really hope we can use this season to capitalize on some high ranking recruits.

Painter puts in the time recruiting. I don't have any doubt that he is out there working hard spends a lot of time away from home to bring in the best players he can.

Hope the season is one in which he can do that. Decent record, right now, but trend is not good, and sitting in middle of B1G pack today with an unimpressive start to the B1G conference. So yea, I hope he turns it around so he has some props to brag about in recruiting.

Sorry but disagree. We are sitting at a better record than last year at the same time. Sure some bad losses but from a pure trending analysis, we are headed in the right direction.

Just my 2 cents.

Your sole mentioning of being "Middle of the Pack" in the Big Ten on January 15 is laughable. There are definitely things to point to to indicate some issues, but Big Ten standings in mid-January mean next to nothing.

Not sure where you get this. We beat Michigan soundly - the same team that just beat #3 Maryland. Also, Iowa took MSU behind the woodshed last night - This season Iowa owns MSU it seems. They are playing awesome right now. Can they keep it up?

It seems to me that you're placing too much emphasis on the Illinois game, which certainly was a disappointment. Still, there's a lot of season to go.

We had a pretty easy schedule so far -- should be 5-0. However, 3-2 and questionable....we will see

No matter....In any case Painter has 3-4 opportunities coming that he can use as "props" in recruiting....let's hope he takes advantage with a good team to accomplish some of these......
1. Conference champs or runner up
2. B1G Tourney Champs
3. NCAA Tourney E8+
4. And to a lesser extend continue dominating iu -- for whatever that is worth in state.

I thought the high school game was Thursday night. My bad. Hence why I wasn't sure if MP was there or not from my post.

Purdue lost 3 games in-a-row with the "Baby Boilers" (in the 2009 - 2010 season), including a real stinker vs. Northwestern. Purdue was 1-3 at that point. Guess what, we still won the conference that year and ended up 29-6. There's a lot of basketball to be played...

I don't see how playing Michigan (just beat Maryland) and Iowa (already beat MSU twice) is "easy". Wisky is down, but beating them in the Kohl Center is never easy, and Illinois played out of their minds against us at their place.

Exactly. This concept that the B1G is easy is laughable. Fact of the matter is we could lose to any team in this conference, particularly on the road. I'm more frustrated by the IA loss because it was at home versus the IL loss.

From what I have heard those two are probably not coming to purdue. Williams, Jackson and Eastern seem to be the priorities and Painter saw two of them this week.
