Doesn't IU Have an ADIDAS Contract?

Im not sure any sponsor gets out of this clean. Of the four schools to have asst. coaches arrested there is Nike, Under Armour and Adidas all represented...

There isn't any. Dakich was trolling for listeners like he usually does, and said he wouldn't be surprised if IU cheated to get Vonleh and Bryant. Both players were prior to the start of the FBI investigation, so I wouldn't be expecting anything concerning IU.
any chance that testimony NOW could lead to things prior to the investigation?

Dakich's testimony? No. A quick Google search would show that Vonleh signed with Jordan Brand, and Bryant signed with Nike. If Adidas did pay both of them, then it was a poor investment. I would be 95% willing to say Dakich is making the whole thing up to get listeners. He has done this many times in the past.

Dakich is not "making it up"; he's speculating, and doing so based on the "plausibility theory":

IU had five players in the Crean era that were worth paying bribes to get: Bryant, Vonleh, Zeller, Yogi, and Blackmon.

Three of those were local kids: Zeller, Blackmon, and Yogi. All three of those players came from families that already were financially secure and then some (both Yogi and James's mothers are medical doctors). Dakich also knows those three families, and knows that their recruitments were absolutely clean.

The other two, Bryant and Vonleh, came from underprivileged backgrounds, and from out of state. Doesn't mean that Dakich has any evidence, but with those two it's plausible.

that is not what I was saying or trying to say. Where this goes and how it ends may encompass more years than we think...

I have relatives either still in, or were in, the FBI (oh do I have stories!!!). They don't limit their investigations in any way ... if they find out something happened, it becomes a part of the whole.

And just a hint of humor - the way most agents live their daily "job/at work" lives is pretty amazing ... and amusing ...

I misunderstood. I completely agree with you. I just don't think everyone should get their hopes up that IU is involved.

I sincerely hope that IU is clean and unsoiled by is scandal. Crean was one weird dude, and he practiced negative recruiting. However, I think he ran a clean program at IU. I do worry about his one assistant, Johnson? I think. The one that went to UL later.

I hope all B1G schools steer clear of this stuff, but I think Illinois is the one closet the scandal at this time. Here's Illinois HC Brad Underwood when he hired Lamont Evans (one of the arrested coaches) at OK St (link to article):

"We're very fortunate to have Lamont join the Cowboy family," said Underwood. "I take tremendous comfort with Lamont in terms of who he is and what he stands for. His ability to work and interact with our players is second to none. He has established recruiting ties all over the country, and I consider him one of the top recruiters in the country. There's no doubt he'll benefit our program and our student-athletes for years to come."

Absolutely. If someone has evidence of something that will soften the charges against them the Justice department will prosecute even if it occurred before the time frame the current investigation is focusing on. The only time it would not is if was before a stature of limitations, which I don't know if there is.

Don't know if IU was involved. Johnson could flip on them if he gets in trouble and wants to reduce sentence time... if he has proof linking him to the Bryant/Vonleh recruitment. Another thing I would be worried about is Archie which wouldn't imply IU specifically, but could affect their current coach keeping his job at IU. Book worked for Sean Miller for 11 years. Do you really think Sean knew nothing about any of this? Archie was also an assistant under Sean recruiting with Book. If Book needs to flip on his colleagues to reduce prison time, why wouldn't he go after his boss or his boss's brother.

The web always has been broad and deep .... I suspect Xanax scripts exploded yesterday.
