Brohm is already making great strides in recruiting. This kid undoubtedly is excited about playing in his offense. I think the fun is back in Purdue football.

Crazy that's he's doing all this 26 days after taking job and just with one assistant coach....with a big assist from Parker too.

Can't wait to see what he can do with a full staff and some time to actually plan

the GBI article gives almost all credit to Brohm and Shephard for bringing him to Purdue - none to Parker. It indicated Hazell and Staff recruited him heavily but he wasn't interested until Brohm was hired. and Shephard made him a priority recruitment. it mentioned it didn't hurt to have Vinny Sutherland as his high school coach.

Even though he's not a 5 star receiver, I like this signing. He came to Purdue expecting us to really open up our offense.

a side note, the fact the article says Shephard made him his top priority to sign and the fact we just hired Levine to be TE's coach and Shephard as WR coach and Brohm as QB coach makes me believe Parker will be fading into the background and Brohm will be hiring an entire new staff, not retaining Parker.

Not upset if they don't retain Parker. Cut bait

Brohm has done more in the Month of December than Hazell did in four years! Hazell was a class act but gotta move on from this mess. It's time for this team to Boiler Up!

Hazell was more an ass clown than anything else, good riddance.
Good pick up on Edwards as we beat out Pittsburgh, Penn State, West Virginia and especially Indiana for this kid. Looks like the tide are turning for Purdue football. Welcome Mr. Edwards. Boiler up.
I like this pick up alot, Fla. player too. I was hoping for Khalil Newton but this kid will do. Parker seems like a nice guy and such, but clean the swamp. Still want the wku 3 star LB.

Especially like beating out Penn State, we have not beat out that type of school in football recruiting in several years.

as for Parker, he has some good qualities, but it appears others have better and more. Parker was credited as being Hazell's best recruiter. It's pretty clear Hazell didn't do any recruiting. Parker tried all year to recruit Edwards, and he got nowhere. Within less than a month after being hired, Shepard went to Florida with Edwards as a top priority, and no only got him to commit, but Edwards also signed an LOI to enroll early. Shepherd also got George Moore to commit to Washington St. When Shepherd left, Moore decommitted. I have more confidence in Shepherd's recruiting ability. As for Parker's coaching skills, it's obvious Brohm will be calling the plays. and he has Shepard at WR and Levine at TE. I'm not sure I'd want parker as a defensive coach. I don't see a future place for him on Brohm's staff.

I think it's time to say thanks for taking over a bad situation, and press on with an entirely new coaching staff.

Edwards did include Parker in his tweet along with Brohm and Shephard. So he obviously played a big part in his recruitment. Just FYI.

the only tweet that I found that included the name Parker was made by EinBierBitte ‏@BoilerNut1 That name appears to already be a Boiler fan. and Edwards retweed that tweet. there's a difference in a person tweeting and re-tweeting. Parker's name is nowhere to be found in three different articles that include quotes from Edwards. Al l praise/credit in those articles is given to brohm and Shephard.

here's the tweet I found. you be the judge.

@JIGABOO1K @JeffBrohm @BrianBrohm @PurdueFBStaff @CoachShephard @GeradParker1 time to get Purdue back on the map, welcome!

You don't think Parker is a good man? I thought he did a good job considering the circumstances.

He didn't say anything about Parker's character. It has more to do with getting rid of a coach from the former regime.

If you look at the commitment picture he tagged Jeff Brohm, Brian Brohm, crazytrain, shephard, and Parker. Just thinking if he wasn't part of the process he wouldn't have added him.

I'm with you Bullwhip! Finally we have a coach who carries a big stick in recruiting. Players on both sides of the ball want to hear him out. Nobody else runs his offense. He has designed his own brand of offense. His recruiting job has been amazing so far, but come January 13 it will explode. CJB has done a fabulous job and he is going to assemble the best coaching we have seen in years.

But take a minute and imagine how much better of a recruiter Parker would be if he's selling Coach Jeff Brohms program! Jeff Brohm is the man. Parker would pull a lot more and a much higher quality of recruits in for CJB. It's easy to see that people want to play for this coach. Hazell was a very hard sell. I like Parker and I hope he is retained.

Let's add that Hazell was slow to offer guys...and it appears only he could offer. How much did that micro management affect Parker?

If Brohm believes he's worth keeping in all for it, but not just because how hard he worked the last 6 weeks

I agree, Hazell was a hard sell. I believe Parker motivated a very limited Purdue team to compete very well for the first half, but with no depth they just wore down.
