..Me likee.

Watched George on a play where he pushed his defender back with the force and speed you'd use on a sled. Kid is impressive, he get that additional help from the line or linebackers (and as the season goes on I believe he will) and the other team will pay when they double/triple team him. How many tackles for a los yesterday?

Great crowd. People were glad to be out of their cages. I couldn't tell if the digital tickets were an issue or not, there were crowds at the gates but with a sellout that's what you get, we did get through fairly quickly.

Digital tickets were definitely an issue, some weren’t downloaded, some wouldn’t scan, some people have no clue what to do with the digital tickets

One of the other HUGE issues was the extremely small number of readers at the gates. It took me 40 minutes to get in and I was shocked that there were only two readers at that gate. I have no idea who did the math on the trough-put of the system, but they should no longer have a job at the beginning of this week.

Personally, I would have given Horvath the other 2 direct snaps and let him try to bull his way into the end zone. I think he would have scored in 3 tries.
IMO, we do not have a player quick enough to run around the end on a hand-off.

Direct snap to Horvath on the 1 yard line with Payne Durham or Garret Miller as lead blocker read the slants /opening & GO.

Better yet, go refrigerator Perry size package with Washington and plow your way into the endzone.

I doubt you see that play against a team with a decent D line. With Horvath as the only option, teams can load the box. And, he's not fast enough to bounce it outside to get the corner.

Your last sentence is the unfortunate part of the equation...

Marcellus Moore is supposed to be that guy who can get the corner and outrun people.
Does the fact that he now lines up to receive kick offs suggest that we might now see him on an offensive play? Perhaps he's finally been forgiven for fumbling that punt return. I know a lot of people would like to see what he can do on offense with his speed.

If i'm not mistaken, he's the fastest guy on the team as well as in the B10 (at least when running track, which is different than football speed).
But, you just got to find ways to get him the ball and get him in space. Jet sweeps, bubble screen, swing passes, middle screens. Basically, a lot of the plays that Rondale Moore ran. Get him 6-8 touches and hope he breaks 1. Those are plays Anthrop ran vs OSU but Anthrop isn't a home run threat nor could he get the corner on the jet sweeps.

Thought that was a great play call and set up well by the prior 2 plays. Just a bad pitch by JP.
Unless you're an option team, I hate seeing it run with a drop back QB who rarely runs it.
Only 3 things can happen and 2 of them are bad.

Anthrop is starting to feel like the football Grady…

Goodness sakes. Really? Because someone suggests another player who is faster than Anthrop should get the ball on occasion to see what he can do with his speed, we automatically bring out the "Grady" quote? The fact of the matter is, Anthrop wasn't effective on the screen plays. He was more than effective on many other passing routes and deserves to be playing, just like Horvath deserves to be playing. They both give incredible effort and are valuable to the team. However, neither one is likely going to run by safeties or corners. And that's OK. But if those facts are dissing him, well I guess he's the new "Grady" then.

Just in the sense that fans think someone (wheeler, Moore, etc) should be playing ahead of Grady or Anthrop, whereas Painter and Brohm obviously disagree. I’m sure we’ll see Moore when he’s ready.

quit being so sensitive. It's ok to say a player isn't fast or a great athlete or able to outrun people. It is what it is.
It's also OK for a fan to say "I'd really like to see so-n-so get the balls player XYZ is getting to see what he can do"
I'm not sure what Brohm was seeing but they kept trying to get Anthrop on the edge but the fact is, he doesn't have the speed to get the edge. I'd like to see Moore getting those plays to see what he can do.

My guess is that Brohm trusts Anthrop with the ball, and rightfully so. But he also keeps getting credit for a talented wide receiver group that he recruited. Unfortunately we only saw a couple of those guys hit the field last game. Hopefully we'll see more on Saturday.

According to this weeks depth chart, Sheffield, Wright, and Bell will be the starting WRs
Well.... assuming that happens, that's a pretty talented group of WRs who were recruited.

If they're supplemented by some players who were lesser-recruited (walk ons), it's probably safe to assume they were developed and "coached up" by the current staff.

OR... we could write it off as another massive failure by this staff....
