over the holidays, I saw an article about Denzel Ward possibly being the best CB in college football this year. he plays for OSU. he's leaving a year early and is projected as a first round pick. he was supposedly clocked in the past for a 4.2 in the 40 at OSU. Why do I bring his name up? I remember his name and believe he was one of Hazell's targeted players and Purdue gave him an offer.

I've posted a lot of negative things about Hazell. But when I look back, he did have a great eye for talent. he made some offers to some very talented players. he just couldn't close the deal. Maybe things would have been different if he was able to sign the players he recruited.

The Denzel Ward you were thinking about originally committed to Michigan then decommitted. Then committed to Purdue but then decommitted. He then chose Syracuse but never played a meaningful down and had to quit football due to injuries. Hazell never offered this stud. And no, Hazell didn’t have a great eye for talent. He had a stud in his backyard (Coy Cronk) that he never gave a look at.

Too bad his offers came a year later or after OSU offered.
