Democrats on Illegal Immigration

Then why do you......and more importantly Trump, constantly claim dems want open borders? lol. They're all right there on tape saying they don't.

Did any of those dems call for troops at the border, call for treating rock throwers like they have guns?

Did they constantly portray immigrants as criminals? Try to demonize and make citizens afraid of immigrants?

understand that anything less than declaring open season on migrants is seen as being weak on borders for these people.

There would be no illegal immigration panic if millions of impoverished europeans were flying to the US and overstaying their visas.

What a moron you are. The entire point of these videos was to show the absolute hypocrisy of the D party when it comes to illegal immigration. Every one of these people basically espoused the same position Trump now has.

Every single one of these Ds is now in favor of open borders and unfettered illegal immigration because they cynically think it will help their party.

lol. The dems don't want open borders just because you, or Trump say so. Those are LIES and you simply are perpetuating them.

I have clearly shown you how the pubs were confused about what immigration bill Trump would sign, he kept changing his mind on DACA and would not sign anything without his wall. Just because the dems don't want the same policy as Trump doesn't mean they are open borders. It's typical Trumpian bullshit.

Your videos only demonstrate that the dems want a fair, effective immigration policy. Are you saying ALL of them are lying? Or that the Democratic party has done a 180 on immigration since Obama? It's a stupid argument, it makes no sense.

Now call me another name.

OK, imbecile.

They do want open borders. They care more about illegals than US citizens. If you can't see that by now you are absolutely blind. The D party has done a complete 180 on immigration because they think it helps them get a new captive voting block, either quickly like in places like CA and MD or through the years. The illegals are used to more leftist, socialist governments and will tend to vote with the Ds.

It's obvious to anyone paying even the slightest of attention that the Ds don't want to solve the illegal immigration issue. They are using the illegals as pawns in their cynical game, including the Dreamers. It's in their best interests, they think, to keep the status quo because the more illegals that run across the border, the more potential D voters there will be in the future from the illegals and their progeny.

I guess I'm totally blind cause that is complete BS. I feel sad for you if you truly believe that. It would mean you have been totally mindfvcked by Trumpism.

OK, genius, then why do they do everything in their power to protect illegals and give them rights they shouldn't have as non-citizens? Why are some states like CA and MD (and the City of Washington DC) trying to change the voting rules to let illegals vote in elections? Why do some states like CA and CT and many cities try to flout ICE and not allow their jurisdictions to keep detainers on illegals in jail, including felons? Why are there any sanctuary cities or states? (And none of them are red).

Why do they try to protect the Dreamers? Why do they use proxies like the ACLU, Pueblo Sin Fronteras, Immigrant Legal Resource Center, and the Immigrant Relief Center to run interference for illegals? Progressive D donors funds these groups, including Soros.

These days, Ds do care more about illegals than US citizens. And only an idiot like you would say this is "Trumpian fake news". I guess in your fantasy world there are no sanctuary cities or states. They don't flout ICE. They don't catch and release illegal criminals. They don't fund legal relief for illegals. They don't give them benefits entitled to citizens. Kate Steinle wasn't killed by an illegal. OR Lennox Lake. OR Sarah Root. OR Grant Ronnebeck. OR Drew Rosenberg.

You are willfully ignorant and very uninformed.

great point, therefore opposite conclusion.

they are desperate to escape the perils of their socialist government back home. they would not want to continue the same in the u.s., so they would be republican votes.

You do understand that Obama and Clinton both signed bills that included money for a wall. Now suddenly it is bad. That is what Trump is stuck on and he will not sign anything without it. Oh well, he won, he gets part of hat he wants in an immigration bill.

FYI-Not for a wall. Think it is bit goofy. Just find it ironic, that Trump wants it and now it is bad, and the linked politicians that SDBoiler1 provided said basically the same things as Trump said, now it is bad, racist, and bigoted Trump.

IMO, wish they would include money for the wall and when he leaves office just reallocate it. If anyone cared about these illegal immigrants plight that is what they would do.

As far as numbers the immigration bills floating around DC in the first two years were way more progressive and included higher numbers being allowed to stay/work that anything talked about in a decade. Go look it up. Congress allows money for a wall and the deal is done.

This is not about a wall. This is about congress not wanting to do their job, to pass the buck, wanting to keep their polling numbers within certain demographics, and lobbyists having their way.

That crap in DC is way past old.

Again, you miss the great distinction. Illegal immigrants are not the same as America's ancestors. You know why. The ancestors came here legally through ports of entry like NYC since even before Ellis Island opened. That's what my ancestors did in the 1870s and 1880s. They didn't run across borders and force their way into the nation, demanding the rights and privileges of citizenship while breaking immigration law. They came here legally and assimilated.

GTFO with "right wing domestic terrorists". So Robert Bowers was a right-wing terrorist? James Hodgkinson? The San Bernadino shooters? The Orlando nightclub shooter, Omar Mateen? Antifa on the left coast? Micah Xavier Johnson? Gavin Long in Baton Rouge? The Tsarnaev brothers? Sayfullo Habibullaevich Saipov?

Terrorism goes both ways. I am not advocating for what Cesar Sayoc (even though not one of his bombs went off, mind you) did, or any other terrorist for that matter. I think all terrorists are deranged lunatics.

The Ellis Island immigration days, and prior, were effectively open borders.

There's an outbreak of hate against innocent American POCs, women, and/or journalists, that's happened in this country, particularly since 2016. This is basically indisputable.

Which caravan was the Pittsburgh shooter from? The guy who sent the mail bombs? The yoga studio shooter? The guy who killed two POC at a Louisville Kroger?

Trump knows his base, that’s for sure. He could crap on a plate, call it a salad and you would think it’s a salad.

He taps into the low intelligence quotient of his base and it gets eaten up. THINK, man. THINK! He’s stoking baseless fears about a group 1000 miles from the border and ignoring the stuff going on here because he knows his base is dumb and will fall for it.

Also, no one is advocating for open borders. That’s just stupid and I know you’re smarter than that.

No one ever said that the Pittburgh shooter, Cesar Sayoc, etc., were from illegal immigrant caravans.

If the Ds aren't for open borders, then why don't they try to make an honest attempt to fix the obviously broken immigration system? You and I both know why - it's in their cynical best interests to maintain the status quo. Even though the Ds try to use immigration as a wedge issue ("What about the Dreamers?"), they have taken no concrete steps to try to fix the situation. They've put no plans out there to vote on. And unfortunately, the Congressional Rs have shown no leadership on this issue either because I think some of them get lobbied by groups who want more cheap labor flooding into the country.

If the Ds really cared about the working poor, AAs, and Hispanics, why wouldn't they want to stop illegal immigration? Illegal immigration depresses wages and impacts the working poor, AAs, and Hispanics as much as anyone.

What you said is just not true. From 1820 to 1892, the US had Castle Garden Emigration Center in NYC, which was the precursor to Ellis Island. My ancestors went through Castle Garden and had to show that they had a legitimate way to make a living in order to move to the Midwest. They had sponsors who were relatives get them and escort them to the Midwest. They had to pledge allegiance to the USA and take a citizenship oath. This process took months. They did not run across the border. They did not demand the rights of citizenship. They assimilated.

I respectfully stand by my stance. Very little documentation was required until the early-mid 1900s. That's cool that you have that kind of insight into your family's history.

Fair enough. My family history has been well-documented and is well-known within our family because the records in the old country and here for that matter were not difficult to track down. I know some families have little idea their actual histories. We know where both sides of my family came from, when, and why.

That's awesome. I know mine had a large German (on my dad's side) and Scottish (on my mom's side) influence. But I really don't know much beyond that, sadly. I get snippets from my parents (in increasingly precious and appreciated conversations, that I feel incredible regret about not having years and years ago) that suggest that my X-2 and X-3 generations may have been pretty poor and devastated by war casualties, which makes me further appreciate the kind of opportunities my parents offered me. Anyway, I digress. Pretty fascinating conversation.

In Germany, if you know where your family came from, you may have success with church records, because they tended to be meticulous back in the day about keeping good records. We learned a great deal from church records and it was surprising how far back the records went. We were able to find documentation all the way back to 1450 or so, believe it or not. Our family was impacted by the Franco-Prussian War and Kaiser Wilhelm.

I did not know both Obama and Clinton signed bills that included money for a wall. So I looked it up. Turns out they didn't, at least in the sense that you're trying to portray.

Legislation in 2006 included money for 700 miles of fencing as part of a package that included advanced technology, lighting, drones etc. It wasn't a wall. Even Trump called it a "nothing wall." Fencing doesn't compare to a "big, beautiful wall" a thousand miles long and made of masonry and concrete.......paid for by Mexico.

"the linked politicians that SDBoiler1 provided said basically the same things as Trump said, now it is bad, racist, and bigoted Trump." Give me a break. JFC. He started with "They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people." in 2015 and has not stopped.......and has actually gotten a lot worse. At this point he absolutely does not mention immigrants from the south with equating them with crime. EVERY TIME. I didn't listen to all the videos, why don't you point out the one where any of the dems described the immigrants in that way? Did Obama separate families like Trump, despite working under the same law? Did Obama or Clinton send Troops to the border? "Basically the same" is total bullshit. I thought you were one of the reasonable Trumpers here.

Money for the wall was not the only thing that had to happen. DACA was a deal breaker, something that has overwhelming support among Americans and would have passed Congress with bipartisan support.........something that can't be said about the Trumpwall.

A few topics in there. If you do not want to read it all skip to the end and last link. That is most pertinent I think.

Not a Trumper but call it a fence, a wall, whatever. It does not change the fact that once it was supported now the idea is the boogeyman. The reality is, Trump won the Presidency and he wants a wall to sign it. Like Obama said elections have consequences.

As far as DACA being a deal with bipartisan support that is wishful thinking on your part. Like I said, even with a more aggressive number than had been mentioned than before, pretty vehement opposition to it. That from the WP of all places. If people really cared about their plight it would have been done. There were bills introduced more inclusive than the 08 Bill and Obama EOs that suddenly are not liberal or large enough. BS all around there.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...d2991367d9d_story.html?utm_term=.8336112bbff9

I do not deny Trump has a toxic type personality and poor communicator. Never have. I will admit the other politicians in this specific case were much more polished. But there have been plenty of comments over the years about they(illegals/dreamers/aliens) should not be able to get welfare, be crime free, no association with cartels/drugs etc

'Did Obama separate families like Trump, despite working under the same law? Did Obama or Clinton send Troops to the border? "Basically the same" is total bullshit.'

I knew Obama, both Bush Presidents and others before had. Did not know Clinton did, but know he did increase BP. Not exactly a new policy. Pretty sure this was done as far back as late 1800s.

https://www.npr.org/2018/04/04/5994...n-to-send-national-guard-troops-to-mexican-bo

As for families being separated, and the number in the caravan, that is nothing new. Have roughly a dozen friends that work for BP or ICE from military. They pretty much say the same thing, that there are roughly 5,000 people coming through this/these valleys every week, some we stop, if we know and recognize the group and they are legal besides the immigration part they let them through.

Honestly, do not see a need for the military as of yet. I do think that day is coming for a variety of reasons. This article sums it up well.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/real-immigration-crisis-coming-america-190700296.html

I do not agree with Trump's style or tactics, and lack of tact. In dealing with this, NATO, Iran,or China. That said I do approve of the fact that he brought some very tough issues to the forefront that had all been swept under the rug for decades.
