On the whole, pretty good id say. Marshall fans and commentators said that we were the most physical front they had seen in awhile. Bentley had 1 bad missed tackle on their RB, but was better than great most the game. True Freshman Markus Bailey looks like our 2nd best RB and honestly, AJ Garcia is probably the 3rd best. Lots of depth here.
DL was strong on the interior and had decent push through 3 quarters but gassed and was unable to help us on the 4th quarter drive Marshall had to win.
DBs were pretty good and are pretty good. What killed us is what always kills us...playing a 2 deep shell and CBs 10 yards off the LOs in crunch time and letting them complete passes at will. Painful had a clutch sack late but was held. Next play on 1st and 20 for Marshall they hit us for 30 in the middle of 4 DBs standing there. I think if we play tight and tough in the secondary on that drive they don't score. Their last 3 big plays on that drive were because of quick throws and our guy not making a play when the WR finally gets to him 10 yards down the field.
Can't pin the full 41 on the unit, and giving up only 27 to that offense...I'd bet that's good enough to win most days. D was unhelpful late, but you can't pin it all on th when they played exceptional for about 52 minutes.
