Dedrick Mackey

He had a very worrisome tweet yesterday. He said he knows what's right in his mind, but not in his heart. To me, and I asked my own college son, and he agreed. That tweet meant his parents really want him to go to Purdue because of the degree and education and everything, but his heart is really not into it, and he'd rather go someplace else - like USF . Unlike some, his mom came on his official visit to Purdue, and he tweeted if mom's happy he's happy. If his mom likes USF, he may bolt for what his heart wants. I had a similar issue with my son. I wanted him to go to UNIV OF Illinois, and he wanted to go to Mich or SIU. I allowed him to go to SIU as the cost would essentially be the same based on the scholarships he received. I'm always worried when a recruit says his heart isn't in it.

That tweet was 4 days ago. I would strongly caution trying to read into a teenagers tweets. That could have been about anything. Quite the stretch to think it was somehow PU related. Again, this is another example of how a KHC myth is born.

Nice caution about tweets and how KHC myths get started. You are the sound of reason Stockboiler85, thanks for that.

This is what happens when you have a VIP section that only lists two words of a post and is followed by 10 subsequent posts. You are led to speculate the worst is about to happen, or else why was a post started, just like speculating about bad news about Hayes and Alstott especially when seeing all three commits decided to take an official visit the weekend before signing day. Brohm just introduced a QB as a preferred walk on, and the same day Alstott visits Illinois. This leads one to believe a player like Alstott is thinkinking about leaving. And when every post you read about Mackey in the past 2 months talks about other teams trying to flip him, You are led to believe when seeing him visit yet another school that there must be a reason he continues to look at other schools. If a guy takes a girl to the prom, you begin to wonder and speculate when he dances with everybody besides the girl he brought to the dance.

When a commit takes an official visit elsewhere and when a lot of other players have recently left, you probably don't speculate positive thoughts. I would suggest if you have a private board, you shouldn't allow people like myself to read the titles and first words of the initial post.
