I didn't vore for Chump or any of the other so-called republicans in 2016 who had total control of the House, Senate, and White House for 2 years and absolutely did nothing about the border. The dems are not the ones who are screaming that the border should be closed. Or, a wall should be built. Perhaps both sides are culpable, but the repubs, who are complaining the most about the border situation had White House and congressional control from 2016 to 2018 and did nothing. The killings, rapes and fentanyl deaths are the result of that.

The Dems never called for the wall or other measures to secure the border. Therefore, not much is expected from the the democratic law makers to do so. On the other hand, the repubs have been calling for the wall and better control and when they had the opportunity to do so when they had control of Congress AND the White House from for 2 years, nothing was done at all.

Schumer, Obama and Clinton have in the past supported border fencing. All three voted for the Secure Fence Act of 2006, and all three supported the 2013 Senate immigration overhaul that passed the Senate, and which called for tougher border security including some additional fencing.
It’s tough for him when facts get in the way of a Democrat narrative. He falls for the false narratives over and over again and never learns.

I know part of the wall was built. This is part of my point. Money was allocated for the wall and thus construction began was after the Dems took control of the House and then there was a slim Republican advantage in the Senate. Again prior to that with the repubs in total control, no money or anything was done for the border. Or at least nothing significant other than separating mothers from the kids. Anyway, the democratic led congress and the Republican led senate allocated only 4 billion or so dollars for the wall. That was 3 to 5 times less than what was estimated for the type of wall Chump wanted. I guess you take what you get and construction began until Biden halted it with his executive order. Along with new construction, a large part of that money went to fixing the existing wall.

Yeah exactly. Therefore, don’t expect the Dems to do much for the wall. You are lucky that allocated what they did. But when the repubs had total control, they could have allocated more money or absolutely shut the border down so body can get in and let Mexico deal with them. But they did not. The bottom line is that the immigration problem is not solely on the democrats. Also, there is natural terrain issues plus private land that had to worked out before to even think about the wall. I wouldn’t mind a wall but I think there is better alternatives for the US to spend that money like roads and bridges.

This was more evidence Trump was not a real repub or swamp creature. Many dems want open immigration because they think it brings more power, with no concern about suppressing the wages of the working poor - including within those minorities that mindlessly vote for them regardless of the crime and horrible schools of large dem-run cities.
Other dems want open immigration because their large corporate donor-owners like cheap labor, and many repubs are equally unethical in this regard.
This was a big reason establishment dems and repubs hated Trump and worked to get rid of him.
