He passed over us for the NCST job. If he wanted to be here, he would already be here.
I go to a game or 2 every year. I like him - good coach. Typically 8 or 9 wins a season. This year was down they finished 6-6. Pretty balanced offense. The past 2 years they had to bring in a transfer QB. Now they have a pretty good younger qb. Their star wr kevin concepcion just entered the portal though. They get players - I think since Doeren has been there 20ish players have been drafted. Had a great LB last year - Payton Wilson.

he had made a verbal agreement with Morgan to replace Hope, and then when he ended his last season at Northern Illinois on a high note, he basically decommitted from his agreed upon contract with Morgan to accept the North Carolina st job. he left Morgan high and dry. and that was why Morgan made the hasty decision to hire Hazell.

Morgan was going to announce the firing and hiring at the same time until Doreen went on his hot streak at the end of the year and got an offer from NC state. If you want a source. Current roster has almost 80 players from NC. Don’t know about high school football in NC. Maybe too reliant on NC?
He's 47-51 in conference. He runs a conservative offense. Not sure what boxes he's checking.

He's fine for NC State. We could do a lot worse, but I'm not sure why either party would be interested.
I like it. If you're gonna swing big, swing BIG! I'm sure a bunch of naysayer on the UNC boards were screaming "Bellicheck would never come here! Bellicheck won't even talk to UNC! Bellicheck is a pipedream!!".......That is, until he interviews at UNC.
That's why Purdue should swing big. Take a shot at Campbell, Kiffin, Mullen, hell, throw a call to Coach Prime just for laughs. Make those guys say no.
Doeren would be another Joe Tiller. Mature, run a great program, clean, no drama etc. same with Clawson. .500 or better every year. I regret not ending up with one of those guys.
Doeren vs Tiller on the football field are exact opposites, and that's all that really matters. Doeren isn't even close to the same level.
Besides, almost every program has some drama. Tiller wasn't immune either. There were some memorable incidents with players like Mitrione, Sutherland, etc.
If you want to be sub .500 in B1G play and run a boring offense, I suppose Doeren is your man.
It's absolutely possible to run a good program and win a lot of games. Give me that coach. That coach is not going to be Doeren.

Just go back in time to when Hazell was hired. You are the ones wanting the source, not me. I told you where to go and find it. Breaking down the salary information calculated by Steve Berkowitz and USA TODAY Sports, Doeren brings in $5,965,377, with max bonuses of up to $1.35 million.
In April Doeren agreed to a contract extension through the 2029 season. As of December 1, 2024, Doeren’s buyout is $15,709,416.
