At one point, Purdue was on something like a 48-20 run before Illinois made its late run.
The step up in defense really turned this around IMO. If the offense gets consistent and cuts down on the TO's....Purdue might just be a tough out.....we'll see.
I'll take some crow because six games into the conference season, I didn't see this as possible.

I think that Purdue is in, but I'll still be watching the mid-major conferences to see if they get a few extra bids because of upset winners. For example, it helps if Northern Iowa beats Illinois State in the Missouri Valley championship game.

Not to be greedy, but it would be nice to get at least 1 win in the BTT and hopefully secure a non-play-in game.
I think right now, Purdue's not in that play-in game (for some reason, I think Purdue's in a better situation than many pundits give them). But obviously depends on who we end up playing in the BTT. If we get blown out in the BTT, can definitely bump us down to a play-in game.

Anybody who looks at our body of work is insane if they think we're not in. Seriously? One Senior? Who didn't even play with us last year? This team is nothing but a shell of who they were early on. And, yesterday was possibly the best job of coaching I've seen out of Painter.....in....I can't even remember when. We had no answer to the Illini Defense in the 1st half. None. 2 points in like 8 minutes? That was pathetic. Putrid. We came out of the locker room and punched them right in the mouth. I have no idea who or what was said, but the transformation was incredible.
To Painter's credit he has turned things around at the half more than once this year if I remember right. People can critique him all they want, but he knows X's and O's pretty well it would seem.
That said 20 wins with a young team like you said, we are in.
You had to mention this, B-Daddy....and down go the Shockers.
Murray State goes down too. They may be out of luck, but no question an extra bid goes to the MVC if Illinois State somehow beats Northern Iowa.
