I remember him getting a lot of hype during his senior year of high school playing basketball. Apparently he is done with football and going to play somewhere. Why not walk on for Purdue?

Pretty telling about our football team when someone would rather play basketball at a no name school than football in the big.
No Pudue football player has played a "meaningful snap" for at least 8 years. He wasn't playing meaningful snaps.
Thank you for stating the fact of the matter when it comes to Purdue football. No Pudue football player has played a "meaningful snap" for at least 8 years.
He was a very good football player as well in high school...and he had cracked the two deeps...in fact, he did so as a true freshman...his failure to crack it again (and it is debatable as to whether he genuinely did or not) is more of an indictment of Hazell and staff than it is of Monteroso though. He was a very good basketball player in high school. Given that he hasn't been able to crack the two deeps in three years at Purdue, it makes sense for him to pursue this, especially if he completes his degree prior to departing.
That's certainly one way to look at it.He was a very good football player as well in high school...and he had cracked the two deeps...in fact, he did so as a true freshman...his failure to crack it again (and it is debatable as to whether he genuinely did or not) is more of an indictment of Hazell and staff than it is of Monteroso though.

He should go play basketball at IUPUI - He'll have a better shot at beating MAC schools there.Pretty telling about our football team when someone would rather play basketball at a no name school than football in the big.

The key word is "play". He hasn't been playing much with the football team and may feel burned-out of football after working hard for 3 years and barely getting on the field.Pretty telling about our football team when someone would rather play basketball at a no name school than football in the big.
